The thoughts of a crazy quarter century old guy who is on the verge of the quarter life crisis, but continues to thrive forward and push his way through this thing called life.
It’s Friday. The past two weekends have been pretty crazy with weddings and bachelor parties. Erick and Ricky are married, Eric, Clint, and Webb all got engaged in the past few months.I guess I’m hitting that age, where all my friends get married? I’m 26.This is me breathing.
Is the sun still shining in Texas? It is somewhere, right?
So I know it has been a while since I last blogged... i'm pretty sure the last time was several weeks ago while i was in mendoza, Argentina staying at a really bad ass hotel.
While in Buenos Aires... I met some pretty cool people... I passed out in the back of a truck with some flowers... Drank a lot of wine and ate some skittles Tried SweetBread (cow brains) and ate the shit out of the best steak I have ever had... Mowed a yard or two with the locals Drank a lot of Stella Went on a hike in the Andes Tried to grow a beard and went a little crazy with it...
The next few weeks were spent recovering and training for the Greenville Pub Crawl that took place this past weekend. Our team of 10 decided to dress like 80's tennis stars... I was Jimmy Connors. Unfortunately i only snapped a few photos that included myself:
Me and the roomie... Kate and I doing a Kris-Kros chugalug And finally... Josh and I posing in the Cinco De Mayo cut out...
All in all... it's been a great past two weeks. Life has been good... work has been good... and the girl i'm dating seems to keep getting cooler. Walk it out.
On some video cards, if you press ALT + CTRL + right arrow it will turn the screen sideways. Note, this only worked on 1 out of the 5 computers we tried it on today
Tonight felt like a great night from the start. Few guys came over, played some wii, had some drinks, had plans to meet up with the S girl (my fav co worker). So we go to quarter, a typical starting off point. At this bar, i have some drinks, things are good. I notice a guy named bob who is friends of the last girl i dated. no big thing.
i see her and some friends walk in. Still not really a big thing. i'm having a good time, things with her didnt go well, no big deal. She comes over to say hi... This i''m not sure why happened. I know she did it just to be nice which i dont get. It is what it is, so i say, awkward 30 sconds... and she is gone. Pretty much just like the end of our relationship.
Anyhow,,, it was a fun night overall. Thats what counts.. night
For the last month or so I dated a girl. A very nice girl that I clearly misread. I guess that is pretty typical for me, because who wouldn't like me...jk. Things ended and I think she explained things pretty well, but i was very confused still. Or maybe its just the fact I don't trust 99% of all girls (the 1% being my mom, sisters, and of course Alanis Morrisette). Of course i tend to blame myself like all relationships, and luckily she didn't wait 6 months or a year to do it, so I guess I should be glad.
So why am I writing about this, well, to hopefully make you laugh. A while back I wrote a blog entitled, Who Am I, comparing myself to a few of the Seinfeld characters. The following video defines who I was the other night. Although I didn't pull it off like George, I definitely thought about this episode the next day and how it made me laugh.
Although I am still somewhat sad, I met up with her tonight to get back some things that I had left over the course of our time together. It did not go as I planned. It was a strangely awkward , mostly because I only had 5 minutes so we had the type of conversation that two people have when they aren't really close friends and have a limited of time to speak, so they try to cram in the gist of a lot of stuff in a short period of time. The following questions are what I'm referring to:
How is work going? Hows the new project? Are you liking your job? Are you still feeling sick?
I felt like I was on a tv show. I felt like i didn't know her when just over a week ago, i felt like i knew her so well.... well.... that is.... until she broke it off. Anyhow, she is a very nice girl and I definitely wish her the best. My only conundrum now, is that when she said, I want to have you as a friend, did she really mean it. Should I check up on her every so often? Or just wait until I run into her at the bar, see her with a guy, and then who knows how i react (I've been know to get drunk following these encounters).
Although I'm single now, I think I might have found my new girlfriend. Thank goodness I have some friends who are sending me all my possibilities so that I do not miss any of the awesome girls that are available:
So it’s been a while. Yes I know.That’s just how I roll.
Past few weeks have gone pretty well.Went to “Chicago” last weekend for the kids hockey tourney. We ended up winning which made for a great weekend. The kids were really happy and it was great to win. Unfortunately, our 6 game win streak ended Wednesday night with a 5 to 1 spanking.
Saturday I finally got around to doing some things I’ve been meaning to do around my place. I fixed the garbage disposal, mopped the floors, dusted, and did my taxes (I love getting money back).Went out a few nights… didn’t get too crazy, but still had fun.
Yesterday was a pretty long day.Got to work about 7:30 am… left around 10:15 PM. We go live this Thursday, so things are a little crazy. After work, made a pit stop at the Loon to see some friends who were in town from Houston. Don’t worry, I didn’t have any Jack and Cokes, just a few beers and sausage pizza. After I got there… I was informed there was some really hot guy named Chase from some Gossip show. I saw him… wasn’t too impressed. But then… the door opened, and in walked Owen Wilson. I was a lot more impressed with him (Hello… Zoolander, Royal Tannenbaums, the list goes on).Anyway… it’s only Tuesday, and I’m ready for Friday.
This past weekend I was somewhat successfully in completing most of my tasks. Status update:
1. Clean Room - 75% cleaner 2. Clean Bathroom - 50% cleaner 3. Laundry - 100% 4. Mop Floors - 5% -- I thought about it 5. Vacuum - 0% -- I didn't think about it at all 6. Throw Some D's - 100%
Overall, I completed more than half. Pretty decent I guess you can say.
This weekend I leave for Chicago to help coach a kids hockey tournament. The high on Friday is in the single digits... so it will be just like my good ole days in Minneapolis. Should be fun driving in a city I've never been, and hopefully I'll have some time to see some sites (Other than the inside of the bar with parents).
The past week or so I've also been hanging out with a new girl. She's kept my interest thus far and is actually really nice and fun. Shocking that she still talks to me, considering I forgot her name minutes within meeting her, but then again, I was drunk, but so was she. So it all works out. We'll see how it all un
