Florida

Odds are, that after next week. My new client will be located in Jupiter, Florida. From what I've heard, we stay in this hotel. Even if that is not true, the client itself is located about one mile from the beach. I guess I'll need to bring my swimsuit and sunscreen. Holla!

If I do end up going, expect several uploads from my phone of pics of the beach.

My apartment smells like stale beer

So we had my roommate's 26 birthday party this weekend. And we decided that a keg would be needed to supply enough good times for a night where I don't get to sleep until 545 am. Yup... one of those really tame chill saturday nights... right.

It was rough from the begining. The first two keg taps were broken, and the third... well it worked. So all was good. There was some flip cup, quarters, hula hooping, taco cabana, mickey avalon, and might have tried to dance a little.

All in all, it was a good party. Tomorrow is Monday. I'm really excited to go to work... or not.

The Reverend

The Reverend Mac. I met 7 year ago in an old beat up locker room at the Travis County Expo Center. I had already played one year on Gibb's hockey team. Unfortunately, I didn't get resigned to that team and I was picked up by Fertig's team. It was that year that I met the Reverend Mac. After first meeting him, I asked if he was really a Reverend. "Technically, yes. I'm certified on the internet" he told me. We spent many nights the next couple years playing defense together, killing penalties, winning a championship or two, and drinking cheap beer after the games. Always a good time and the Reverend Mac always had a classic story.

About two years ago, while flying to Montreal for a hockey tournament, I had a layover in Detroit Michigan. I had a few hours to kill, so I decided to go have a beer at the closest bar I could find. There... Reverend Mac was sitting in his infamous black leather jacket. I sat down with him and we caught up over a few beers. Finally we shook hands, and we both went on our ways.

Today, I got an email from Fertig. Apparently, the Reverend Mac's is suffering from liver failure. They are unsure how much longer he will live, but hopefully he pulls through and can get back on the ice.

ebay kicked my ass last night

So last night I was trying to do anything but work. So I started cruising eBay. From there I ended up looking at my past reviews from other buyers/sellers, and found someone that I bought two paintings from a long time ago. I decided to check if the guy was still selling stuff on eBay, and low and behold, he was. I cruised through some of his stuff, and decided that I liked one of them and it was a reasonable price. 64.99 for a four canvas collected art piece. So I bid 100, reserve not met. At this point, i became more obsessed with wanting to know what the reserved price was. If you do not understand Reserve Prices, basically, a buyer cannot win until they bid a minimum amount that is set by the seller (this amount being the reserve price). At this point, I begin to increase my bid, until I hit the reserve price. Eventually, I bid 200. Well, I hit it. The reserve price was actually 179.00. With 20 minutes left in the auction. I felt for sure, that someone would surpass my bid. And someone came very close, uping my payment up to 194.50 (I'm a little suspicious about this, and believe it might be insider selling, but oh well). Anyway... 194.50 later, I'm the proud owner of the following painting:

Gettin my a... kicked

So i learned this morning, if you ever want to feel really slow. Meet at Luke's Locker at 6 am on a Wednesday. I only did 4 miles, and the rest of the group did 6 miles... and they smoked me. Oh yeah, and 80% of them were girls. I feel really good about myself today...

This is me breathing.

And... it happened

I've had my jeep for about 6 months now and have been very good about not leaving any valuables in it for even the shortest periods of time (I'm the dork that takes his computers into bars during happy hour, but only because I don't want my computer to get stolen).

So last night, I left my jeep in my garage where there are about 10 other cars. I left my ipod inside the jeep.

This morning, it was gone.

I know it's my own fault, so... I guess I'll be listening to NPR a lot more.

Today is day 1 of no Coke. So far so well. Let's see how long I can make it.

I'm the great white hope.

Finally...?

It’s Friday. The past two weekends have been pretty crazy with weddings and bachelor parties. Erick and Ricky are married, Eric, Clint, and Webb all got engaged in the past few months. I guess I’m hitting that age, where all my friends get married? I’m 26. This is me breathing.

Is the sun still shining in Texas? It is somewhere, right?

Where I be?

So I know it has been a while since I last blogged... i'm pretty sure the last time was several weeks ago while i was in mendoza, Argentina staying at a really bad ass hotel.

While in Buenos Aires... I met some pretty cool people...
I passed out in the back of a truck with some flowers...
Drank a lot of wine and ate some skittles
Tried SweetBread (cow brains) and ate the shit out of the best steak I have ever had...
Mowed a yard or two with the locals
Drank a lot of Stella
Went on a hike in the Andes

Tried to grow a beard and went a little crazy with it...

The next few weeks were spent recovering and training for the Greenville Pub Crawl that took place this past weekend. Our team of 10 decided to dress like 80's tennis stars... I was Jimmy Connors. Unfortunately i only snapped a few photos that included myself:

Me and the roomie...
Kate and I doing a Kris-Kros chugalug
And finally... Josh and I posing in the Cinco De Mayo cut out...

All in all... it's been a great past two weeks. Life has been good... work has been good... and the girl i'm dating seems to keep getting cooler. Walk it out.
