Friday, morphed into brian 1.0 for a messy fun night. It was supposed to be a low key three beer birthday since i had planned on driving to H town that night to see my parents (you can tell i'm getting old when i'm going to my parents on my bday). I won't bore you with all the details from my birthday, but it was a fun time from the parts i do remember.
Anyways. So last night I started watching this movie called Earthlings. It is a movie that shows the horrible things that we do to animals and is supposed to promote not eating meat or purchasing things that harm animals. If you have ever wanted to see them put dogs to sleep, it has it on there and its pretty strange. One second they are alive and happy, the next they just fall over. They also show people putting dogs and cats into gas chambers and other horrible ways of killing them. And that is just a small chunk of part 1. Part 2 is all about the meat that we eat. I will have to say, the living conditions of the animals are extremely sub par and the way they kill them is not nice at all. Animals are practically skinned alive and throats are slit. I still have three more parts to watch. If you are interested in watching it, I found the entire thing on Google Video, or i have borrowed the DVD from my sister if you want better quality. All together though, there is not really any way i can just stop eating meat. I do want to try and cut back when i can, although that in itself will be difficult.
Anyways, it's monday. Let's do this.
