There I Go Again

Friday, morphed into brian 1.0 for a messy fun night. It was supposed to be a low key three beer birthday since i had planned on driving to H town that night to see my parents (you can tell i'm getting old when i'm going to my parents on my bday). I won't bore you with all the details from my birthday, but it was a fun time from the parts i do remember.

Anyways. So last night I started watching this movie called Earthlings. It is a movie that shows the horrible things that we do to animals and is supposed to promote not eating meat or purchasing things that harm animals. If you have ever wanted to see them put dogs to sleep, it has it on there and its pretty strange. One second they are alive and happy, the next they just fall over. They also show people putting dogs and cats into gas chambers and other horrible ways of killing them. And that is just a small chunk of part 1. Part 2 is all about the meat that we eat. I will have to say, the living conditions of the animals are extremely sub par and the way they kill them is not nice at all. Animals are practically skinned alive and throats are slit. I still have three more parts to watch. If you are interested in watching it, I found the entire thing on Google Video, or i have borrowed the DVD from my sister if you want better quality. All together though, there is not really any way i can just stop eating meat. I do want to try and cut back when i can, although that in itself will be difficult.

Anyways, it's monday. Let's do this.

The QC

Tomorrow I hit the QC (The quarter century mark). In some ways, I'm a little excited, I'll be able to save some more money on car insurance and in some ways be more responsible (Ha, sure... yeah right).

Last night, i blew out candles on a birthday cake for the first time in who knows how long. It all went down at a little work function we had at one of our clients house. She was very nice and had some brownies and put candles in them. I was surprised that they had remembered and therefore I turned very red from what I have been told. I never really have been much of a fan of birthdays ever since I was a kid, to me, it is really just another day. And these days, it's just another day I'll most likely be doing some big time drinking. This birthday will be somewhat different, I've decided to pack up and head home for the weekend and spend it with my parents and sista.

All in all, I'm hoping the weekend will be a somewhat relaxing what, since the past few have been fun and games involving my favorite beverage... beer. Before I do leave for Houston, I'll be having a somewhat small gathering of a few friends at one of my favorite bars, the Stoneleigh P.

Random Thoughts:

- Bags with wheels are like pink pedals on a bike.
- Lately the weather in Big D has been perfect. The past few weekends I've been spending a lot of time during the day at the Gingerman on the patio (see photo above). Always good times.
- Tonight is once again another big game in hockey. We are playing a team that is one point behind us and the playoff race is getting tight now that there are only about 5 games left. I'll be arriving a little late to the game since my flight gets in at 650 and game is at 730... let's just hope the plane is on time.

25, here i come.

35 Hour Bender...

This is pretty much how the weekend went.

Friday I got to Dave and Busters for a work happy hour. Started drinking there, but not tons of drinks since i had to drive home and i was helping out with the event and didn't want to be so hammered i couldn't function. After that my friend Sara and I met up with Drew Dog, the sistas (three of them), Mari, and Kate at Frankies. This was where things kind of started to go down hill. We migrated from Frankies to Quarter and continued the drink fest. Shots... beers... shots was kind of how we rolled that night. Next thing i know... it's 2 am. Whoa. Where did the time go. I decided it was time to go home since Friday night was supposed to be a very chill night. My original plan involved going home around 830 and cleaning up the rest of my place... but of course that did not happen.

Saturday morning I woke up in a Betty Crocker kind of state and since i had some friends crashing in my bed, i figured I'd make them muffins. That was nice of me... right...jk. From there i went to breadwinners with Sara, Susan, and Don... all work fun buddies. Had a nice little Mimosa to start the morning off right, then went back home as they shopped for apartments and hung out for about an hour. around 2 pm... Drew was ready to start the night off... yes... we started the night off at 2 pm at our favorite bar, the Gingerman. Our plan originally was to stay until 5 pm... and then go home and take naps to rest up for the night. But then people just kept showing up and so basically, we never got to leave. I ended up leaving around 730 to run home... change into nicer cloths... and then went back to the bar. From there we went to a going away party for my friend, then to Central Park. Sara and I stayed only for one drink and then headed over to Walrus to meet back up with Drew and others. That bar again went something like... shots... beers... shots... beers until 2 am. From there we went to the AP (not accounts payable... it stands for After Party) at Amy's boyfriends place. Stayed until around 3... took a cab to cafe brazil for some late night food... then finally cabbed it home around 4 am. Completing my 35 hour bender.

Sunday was a no drink day... went to see Blades of Glory, ate a Jake's with the roomie, and played a late night hockey game to sweat off the booze from the weekend. All in all, it was a tremendously fun weekend, but i think i will be taking a few weeks off from getting drunk.

"I'll show you how to drink a beer mother fucker" and "What had happened wuz" were definitely two lines that were abused this weekend and made just about every thing ridrunkusly funny.

Goonies Never Say Die

I was just 3 years old when the Goonies was released in theatres and yet it is still one of my favorite movies. With great characters like the Fratellis, Mikey, Chunk, Data, Sloth, and others, the film has withstood one of the greatest tests of time.

In 10 days I will turn 25.

10 minutes ago... i pissed away the last of the beer i drank last night

Tonight at 9 i have an important hockey game. I need to perform well tonight. This is me breathing.

Anna Nicole... wa wa wi

So I'm sure everyone has heard about Anna Nicole and that her death was due to a combination of several things and none of them being illegal drugs. That is great and all I do really feel bad about the situation and death isn't really a funny thing, but reading the autopsy definitely made me giggle a few times.

I think my favorite line in the autopsy was the descriptions of different parts of her body. As noted here:

"The genitalia are those of a normally developed adult woman. There is no evidence of injury. The anus is unremarkable."

I understand the first two sentences, basically implying she wasn't raped or something like that... but what is it that was so unremarkable about the anus. Do people typically have abnormal ones, this would be interesting to know.

I've never read an autopsy, but they do go into a lot of detail about everything that exists on the body. Including all of the tattoos that Anna had:

"There is a pair of red lips in the right lower abdominal quadrant.
Two red cherries are on the right mid pelvis.
A “Playboy Bunny” is on the left anterior mid pelvis.
The words “Daniel” and “Papas” are on the mid anterior pelvis region.
A mixed tattoo on the right lower leg and ankle represents: Christ’s head; Our Lady of Guadalupe; the Holy Bible; the naked torso of a woman; the smiling face of Marilyn Monroe; a cross; a heart and shooting flames.
A mermaid on a flower bed with a pair of lips underneath it laying across the lower back."

All in all, I believe she was more tattered up than Tommy Lee.

Anyways, sad to see her go, but glad to finally find out that it wasn't drug overdose. She will be missed.

Meatout 2007

Meatout 2007 is tomorrow, Saturday, March 23. So I (And you should too) will not be eating meet tomorrow and will only be eating luxurious fruits, vegetables, and whole grains.

Meatout is an international observance helping individuals evolve to a wholesome, nonviolent diet of fruits, vegetables, whole grains. This year's theme is "Stop Global Warming!" Did you know....

1. Animal agriculture produces more greenhouse gases than automobiles
2. Animal waste and feed cropland dump more pollutants into our waterways than all other human activities combined
3. Meat-based diets require 10-20 times as much land as plant-based diets - nearly half the world's grain and soybeans are fed to animals raised for human consumption
4. Eliminating animal products from your diet reduces your personal
greenhouse gas emissions by 1.5 tons .... that's a greater reduction than if you drive a hybrid car!!

There are Meatout events all around the world this weekend. Check for events in your area here: http://www.meatout.org/events/mevents.htm

In honor of Meatout 2007 I will be watching Fast Food Nation tomorrow. Good luck.

WTF... He Did It.

That's my boy Sanjaya Malakar... surviving another round. And this time, he wasn't even in the bottom two. Must have been his stellar performance from the other night that is keeping him in the game.

My question is, what is America really thinking. How can he be worse than Stephanie or Chris, they both at least look good and can sing better than a third grader, which is close to what Sanjaya resembles. His permish long 70sish want to be hair just isn't doing it for me. And his voice is just rancid and way too soft for anyone to even hear. Are people voting for him because they feel bad for him, because that's all i can think of and that is very pathetic.

Stephanie was supposed to be the next Beyonce... hopefully someone will pick her up and she will create some booty shakin music like i know she can.

Peace.

Sanjaya makes little girls cry

Have you been watching American Idol? Because to be honest... i kind of got caught up in it this season for some reason i have yet to figure out. Not sure if you know who Sanjaya is, but everyone thinks he is the worse and he has avoided the cut several times now. I contributed to this a few weeks ago by voting for him... yes i know, I am evil.

Last night he performed "You Really Got Me" and although it was better than all his previous performances, one might say it was like watching a man trying to breast feed three turkeys at the same time. The same sounds that Sanjaya made are the same sounds the blood thirsty turkey's would make as they pecked away at a man's nipples.

One girl even cried the performance was so bad. The camera kept cutting over to her. Some believe that she was crying out of happiness. Clearly the only reason she would be crying out of happiness while watching his performance was if Sanjaya was the Easter Bunny. Which is a small possibility but not likely because he doesn't look like he knows how to hide eggs very well... or how to find them.

Mezmorization Television

Growing up as a kid... i was somewhat deprived and did not have Cable television. Even today, I don't think I would have cable if I didn't have a roommate that wanted it. When I first moved to Dallas, I didn't have cable for the first year, and life was fine.

After that though, i found a station called MTV. Heard of it? MTV stands for Music Television or something like that, but ironically enough, I don't think I've ever seen a video. Maybe it really stands for Mezmorization Television. Because if there is one thing it is good at, grabbing my attention and locking it for long periods of time.

Shows like Next, Real World, My Super Sweet 16, Cheyenne, Jackass, Tom Green Show, Parental Control, Maui Fever, The Hills, True Life, Spring Break 07 Unleashed, and so many others seem to always lock me in like a sniper locks in his next target in the cross hairs of his M40 Sniper Rifle (See picture).

So what is it that locks me in, probably the absurdity of what I am viewing? Most of it is cheesier than Chester Cheetah, but maybe that is the appeal. The fact that most of these people are so cheese and I just can't believe it almost makes me want to continue watching. You dig?

I broke down...

...and joined Netflix. Thus far, I'm very impressed with the interface they have put together. It's very easy to understand, even for someone like me.

Right now in my queue, I have Fast Food Nation (Recommended by my sister), Borat (i want to see the extra 30 minutes), and Sideways (I never got to see the end). After those i have several Everest Expedition/alpine climbing style movies to motivate me to train harder and more. Hopefully this will work.

I checked out external DVD burners... they only cost about 100 bucks and software to burn DVDs is only about 45 bucks. Hard to believe that it is legal to sell these, they are asking for people to just copy movies. Hopefully I can get it all figured out soon.

I look forward to netflixing. It is fun.

Good people

Some people... i love to work with... some people i hate working with because they are difficult.

I sure hope other people think of me as someone they love to work with... or at least not someone they hate to work with. i would be satisfied knowing i was at least in the middle of the two. More to come on this later.

Like Whoa

So normally political things aren't my favorite thing to discuss... but there was this guy, who looked like he just woke up next to a 50 cent male hooker with condoms coming out of his ears and anus after a night of drunken absinthe sexual escapades debauchery. At least he used protection right? Wrong.

So anyways, the guy pictured recently admitted that he decapitated the Wall Street Journal reporter in 2002. He is quoted to saying:

"I decapitated with my blessed right hand the head of the American Jew, Daniel Pearl, in Karachi Pakistan"

First off... your name may be Khalid, but you are not Borat. And i feel like you are serious about your jewist comment. Not that I'm Jewish, and i like to laugh at jokes, but this guy is actually serious about his jewist thoughts.

Second... shave your back or get it waxed... or do something. You look like you spilled rogaine all over you and it just won't stop growing.

Third... Two words for you... Super Cuts.

All in all, i think we should give him the death penalty, Westley style from the Princess Bride... which goes something like this:

WESTLEY - It won't be the last. To the pain means the first thing you lose will be your feet, below the ankles, then your hands at the wrists, next your nose.

HUMPERDINCK- and then my tongue, I suppose. I killed you too quickly the last time, a mistake I don't mean to duplicate tonight.

WESTLEY -I wasn't finished -- the next thing you lose will be your left eye, followed by your right --

HUMPERDINCK-- and then my ears, I understand. Let's get on with it --

WESTLEY - Wrong! Your ears you keep, and I'll tell you why -- -- so that every shriek of every child at seeing your hideousness will be yours to cherish -- every babe that weeps at your approach, every woman who cries out, "Dear God, what is that thing?" will echo in your perfect ears. That is what "to the pain" means. It means I leave you in anguish, wallowing in freakish misery forever.

That is how he should die... Westley Style.

The deadliest mountain

Yesterday I continued reading Left For Dead (book about the 1996 tragedy on Everest) on the plane to Dallas. Rob Hall passed away... this is an excerpt from the book describing the situation. Very sad.

"Rob lived through that night, but late that next afternoon, as darkness began to fall and there was no longer any hope of a rescue, Base Camp called his wife, Jan, in New Zealand and patched her through to her dying husband. Everyone on that mountain with a radio bore silent witness to their last moments together. Hall had regained his faculties. He and Jan decided at that moment to named their unborn child Sarah.

Jane to Rob: 'Don't feel that you are alone. I'm sending all my positive energy your way.'

Rob to Jane: 'I love you. Sleep well, my sweetheart. Please don't worry too much.'

Both of them knew exactly what lay ahead. When those moments had passed and Rob no longer had to be strong, you could hear him quietly weeping as he faced his own death. He didn't know the radio was still on."

That can't be easy knowing that you are pretty much left for death and that no one can save you and you cannot save yourself. Several people die on Everest every year, The American Alpine Journal says that one in 29 climbers who summited Everest died on descent. However, many hard core climbers believe K2, where one in seven summiters died on descent is much tougher. I personally know that I am not capable of either (at least not yet). But if you are interested in learning more about K2, you should read this article. It is very long... but some of it is interesting.

Losing it

Am I really losing it. I used to be all up on the latest technologies and computer gadgets and gizmo's... but the other day, i went into the MAC store and used an ipod for the first time. It was not extremely difficult, but there were definitely several features i need help with in order to understand. I must be getting old or something, because i still don't understand what is so great about the ipod. I mean, it's just music. Music is nice, but is it really that necessary to have your iheadphones in all the time such as when you are running, flying, working, etc. You are missing out on hearing so many great things... nature, airplane engines, babies crying, other people's conversations, and so many other great things. So maybe they are the ones that are falling behind because they are missing out on all the sounds of life that go on around them. Think about it.

Work sucks... I know.

Predicting the Future

I'm pretty good at predicting the future so I'll go ahead and predict the rest of my day...

Lunch will consist of a place called Rossies (I believe I can make this happen if I suggest it) where I will order the Fruit Salad, Meat Lovers Pizza, and a water.

Afternoon will be short and sweet and consists of me responding to... 17 emails and reading 25 emails. Work a few big deals with my client to make them happy. Get my stuff done for the day. Start packing up around 315 and leave for the airport around 330 for my flight back to the big D.

Walk my way down to the train station... freezing my ass off in the 20 degree weather trying not to have to use my gloves or my hat (because everyone knows those are for wimps). Typical timing, as I'm 100 yards from the train I will watch it come and go... missing it only by a minute or two. Damn! It always happens. So I'll stand in the cold for another 10 minutes waiting for the next train. Awesome.

Arrive at the airport around 4ish... make my way to the tram to the airport and get in line with all the status /first class folks (since it's typically faster since its 90% business people and we all have the process down stat on how to go through security quickly... unlike the married couple with 3 kids running and screaming and taking 5 minutes to get there bag through security and then 2 times of setting off the metal detector until finally they have to get the wand to search them... only to find that the person didn't take off there Stainless Steel belt buckle, timex watch, and they had 4 silver dollars in their pocket -- seriously who carries silver dollars... and i digress).

Anyways, I will do my Doo-Da-Doo-Da dance through security. Believe it or not in the past year of traveling they have searched my bag twice -- both in the past 3 weeks -- one time though, they did not even check my ID. They got confused by the line and checked the person in front of me and the person behind me...oh well. After making it through security I will make my way down to Chili's (I know it sucks... but there is not much else in MSP airport). Order my chicken sandwich and a tall beer (only a buck more... I'm such a sucker).

Make my way to the gate... prey i get bumped up for first class. "First class is checked in full"... Damn! Oh well... tonight i have an exit row.. it's basically first class for skinny people. As long as Mr. Can I raise the Arm Rest doesn't sit next to me... I should be fine.

Begin doing some reading until the plane talks off... fall asleep. Wake up back in Dallas. Roll of the plane in the wrong terminal of course since I'm flying stupid American. Drive back to my house... pick up hockey equipment. Make it to my 10 o'clock game just in time to play and kick some ass (I'm guaranteeing victory tonight).

Anyways, I'm sure that now you know how the rest of my day will go... I'm sure you can now make it through your day without any problems. Hope that wasn't too boring... because it was boring for me doing it... i just had to show off my skill of reading the future (or maybe it's because I've had this exact same routine every Thursday for the past year almost).

Mothers Day coming soon?

My parents use to live in England so I use to send my mom flowers every mothers day via some UK flowers website.

This morning I got an email from them saying:

"Don't forget Mother's Day.... Sunday 18th March. Buy Mum a gift online"

Few things wrong with this.

1. Mum? I don't understand why they say Mum. Guess the Brits are just a little different.
2. Sunday 18th March - They do dates backwards. Shouldn't it be Sunday, March 18th?
3. Mother's day is not until May. I know this because that is when me mum's birthday is. I guess England has different dates for these types of holidays. Very interesting.

So in about a week and a half... be sure to tell your mother happy mother's day.

When not to brush

There are definitely certain times in life when you should not brush. They all happen to be before eating food. I realized this morning as I took a bite of my pineapple at breakfast and the minty flavor hit the acidy pineapple combining to make some nasty super flavor that did not go over well. Some other things that are bad combinations... beer, vodka, strawberries, orange juice, and several others.

probably the only thing that is okay to eat immediately following a brushing session would have to be flossing or chewing a piece of mint gum (even that might not go over well).

Also, what is up with orange flavored citrus toothpaste, people are doing way too many drugs these days.

books

Sometimes I wish I could be a speed reader. There are so many books available these days... it is a little ridiculous.

Tonight I went to Barnes and Noble... it took me 30 minutes to decide on several different books that I had to choose from. I chose "Left for Dead" which is the story from Beck Weathers survival on the Everest tragedy of 1996. I read Into Thin Air which is another persons version of the story that survived so it should be interesting to see how they compare.

I know you don't care, but you should. Why? Because these books are great. Maybe it's because i love this kind of stuff, or maybe they really are good books. You'll never know until you read one of them.

yeah...

"Why am i naked"

This was the first few coherent thought that came to mind Saturday morning. I laid there longer, and continued to try and figure out the answer to this question. I was very unsuccessful. I tried to unfold the events from the night before... and this was all I came up with.

3:30 pm - I am bored at work. It is time to go drink.
4:00 pm - Arrive at the Gingerman 2 minutes prior to Drew. It's Texas Independence day, so I will only be ordering Texas beers. Order beer 1 - Live Oak Big Bark
4:02 pm - Amy shows up, we get the best table on the patio. Holla!
4:05 pm - Time for my favorite bar food... turkey cranberry sandwich...mmm
4:18 pm - Order Beer Number 2 - (Another Big Bark)
4:45 pm - The sun is bothering me, yet I am somewhat cold. Must need more beer. Order beer number 3 (Real Ale Brewing Pale Ale)
4:46 pm - Potty time.
5:15 pm - More people continue to show up that I don't know. Maybe i should be more social. Get me another beer (old school... Shiner Bock)
6:15 pm - Pam shows up... it's about time...jk.
6:16 pm - One more beer please.
6:50 pm - I'm slowing down... must keep pushing on. Another beer please
7:45 pm - Phil shows up. It's about time slacker. Another beer please
8:00 pm - I begin talking to some girl. Turns out she is from Houston or knows someone from Houston named Misty. Wow. I know who she is talking about. Misty was a popular hot girl in middle school... one of those cheerleader types. The girl talks about how they were great friends... I tell her i barely knew her, but would recognize her. Then random girl tells me Misty was a slut... too bad i didn't know her better in middle school...jk.
8:15 pm - Last beer at the gingerman. Hopefully
9:00 pm - Ride to Quarter Bar with Phil and Pam to meet up with Pam's friends
9:05 pm - Phil orders me a drink... Jack and Coke (it's my party trick drink)... pam pays. Nice of her
9:15 pm - I haven't touched my Jack and Coke and phil notices... "whats wrong with gekius" he says. I tell him no fear... it's all good. Then I chug the entire thing and say... where to next.
9:45 pm - Brien Pierson calls... and says he wants to go out... he will pick us up in front of Quarter shortly
9:50 pm - Phil goes to the bathroom
9:54 pm - I get a text from Brien... he is outside waiting to pick us up
9:55 pm - I grab Pam tell her we are leaving. "What about phil" she asks... i say... "What about him". We leave phil behind. Whoops. I still haven't talked to him since... it happens. He will be ok.
10:05 pm - We go to State & Allen lounge. Brien buys a round and introduces us to all his big time friends. All very nice... just not my style.
10:45 pm - Time for a new bar. Hop in the range rover (Cash M style) We pick... Grapevine... of course... it's brien.
11:00 pm - Get into Grapevine, and Brien order's his typical Grapevine drink. A bottle of Champagne and three glasses. Here we go.
11:45 pm - First bottle done... I've been chugging way too much and can feel the bubbly.
11:50 pm - Brien orders another bottle
11:55 pm - I'm tired. I close out. Drink a little more champagne. And peace out
12:01 am - Pam and I walk out of the bar. Realizing Brien drove us here. Shit. How will we get home?
12:02 am - Pam and Gekius are hungry. Gekius has idea to walk to Cafe Brazil. It's not that far. We start walking.
12:21 am - After the half mile walk (much longer than anticipated) through the gayberhood, we make it. Finally.
1:15 am - I find myself in a cab on my way home with Pam. Did i eat at cafe Brazil? Apparently I did.
1:16 am - The 45 second .75 mile cab ride home was a quick one. I ask pam for money... Thank goodness she has cash and is responsible.
9:15 am - I wake up naked. Still unexplainable.
10:30 am - My car is 1.5 miles away. I have to run in order to get it. I run it in 12 minutes... Nake, Hungover, and still drunk... ok not naked... but either way I'm still capable of running 8 minute miles in that horrible state... wait for it.

Somehow i made it through the night. It was my first super drunk night since MLK day. It was fun. I made some new friends. Discovered a few other things. Until next time... peace out.

Saturday night i go out. I can't even stand the smell of alcohol. My stomach had the strangest pains ever (pretty sure it was my liver saying.. cirrhosis). But i made.

Good bad luck...

Ever heard of it. If not, here is an example.

A buddy of mine had a toight (yes... its toight) deadline approaching and was very certain that the odds of making it were slim to none. That sucks eh. Except for the fact that the person who is expecting the deliverable had a death in the family this afternoon, therefore won't be available until monday at the earliest to check if its done. Good luck for my buddy, bad luck for the VP who wanted to see the deliverable.

That is an example of good bad luck.

Texas Independence Day!!

In case you didn't know... today is Texas Independence Day.

On March 2, 1836, Texas declared its independence from Mexico and became the Republic of Texas. For about the next 10 years, Texas was its own country.

On March 2, 1836, the Battle of the Alamo was in progress. Perhaps one of the greatest battles (other than Battle of San Jacinto) to ever take place. The Texas troops were tremendously outnumbered by Mexican General Santa Anna and the rest of the Mexican forces. Santa Anna used about 1,100 soldiers, while the Alamo only had about 200 soldiers inside to defend. The fighting went on for 13 days. Colonel Travis knew what he was up against and knew defeat was most certain. So on March 3rd (or 4th or 5th, no one really knows), he drew a line in the sand with his sword and invited those who were willing to stay and most certainly die, to cross the line.

Several famous Texans died at the Alamo, including Jim Bowie(Bowie knife was named after him), Davy Crockett (Famous quote "they could go to hell and I would go to Texas" and known for wearing his coon skin hat), William Travis, and several others.

Throughout hate rest of the Texas Revolution, "Remember the Alamo, Remember Goliad" became the battle cry for Texans.

So today, i ask you for a moment of silence while we remember the Alamo, the Texas Revolution, and what Texas stands for... Independence.

Below is the invite of the celebration i will be attending tonight:

As you may or may not know, this Friday is Texas Independence Day. As such, I'd like to invite you to celebrate the 171st year of the lone star state's independence from Mexico . Without the Texas Revolution, our state would be inundated with Mexican culture. Oh, wait....it is (and thank God for Mexican food—am I right?). Anytoot, I can't think of a more appropriate way to celebrate the culture and traditions of our great state than to drink a butt-load of imported beer.

Please join me in recognizing key battles and fallen Texan heroes like Davey Crockett, Sam Houston and James Bowie at the Ginger Man this Friday evening. Our heroes probably wouldn't mind if we also honored them with a little skittle shaking at The Slip Inn. As Santa Anna always said, "Pimps up, hoes down. If you can't swim, you're bound to drizz-own!" Or maybe that was Snoop Dogg; I always get those two confused.

The festivity details are listed below per The Ginger Man. Please feel free to invite others by forwarding this email to your friends. Some of us plan to get there a little early (around 3ish) so you should think about getting there early if you want to sit at the cool table (which will slowly become the retard/short bus table by 7ish).

Cowboy hats and coon-skin caps are welcome, but save your sombreros for cinco de mayo.

REMEMBER THE ALAMO , BEEYOTCH!
The Ginger Man hosts their 2nd annual Celebrate Texas Fest,
featuring more than 20 Texas beers.
Celebrate Texas Independence Day Friday March 2

Password expires in 7 days

That's right... my password for my work computer will be expiring in 7 days. That means I technically don't have to change it until next Thursday. So I officially have one week for ideas of what to change my password to. Typically, I use one of my favorite numbers and combine it with a word that is easy to remember and has some significance to me. Unfortunately, I've already used all of these words. Typically I now just look around me at the moment they want me to change my password and see what word pop up... such as:

1. My soup today says Campbell's... so i might make my password Campbells11
2. My mouse says "Logitech" on it... so i might choose logitech88
3. My computer says Latitutde610... so i might use Latitude610... except for that was my password 6 months ago... damn!
4. My phone says IPPhone... so i might choose IPPhone33.

Anyways... you get the point. Passwords expire and you have to come up with new ones unless you want to beat the system (see my previous blog: Beating the System (November 2006))

-----------------------------------------------

Since I'm sure everyone cares what I will be eating today... here you go:
Breakfast Today: 2 pieces of toast with Blackberry Jelly. Glass of Vanilla Soy Milk
Lunch Today: Campbell's Chunk "Soup that eats like a meal" --- Sounds pretty gross, but hopefully it will taste better than it sounds.
Dinner Today: (Chicken Parmesan with Pasta OR Spinach and Mushroom Pizza) AND Strawberries

This one time...

... when i wasn't drinking (the start of my stories are typically the complete opposite of this) my dad shot my sister with a gun.

Let me rephrase that.

This one time... when i wasn't drinking, my dad accidentally shot my sister with a BB gun. I remember it like it was yesterday... and so does she since she was the one who was shot.

My dad and I were shooting our BBs at cans like we loved to do on any typical Saturday morning. This is what we did in Texas as kids, and generally move up to pellet guns after this, then rifles, then shotguns, and finally AK47s. My sister at the time was on the swing set which was not directly in the line of fire, but definitely about 15 feet away from the cans at about a 30 degree angle.

I remember shooting, then hearing my sister scream. That's about it. Turns out a BB ricocheted off the can and hit her on the pinkie as she was swinging. The real questions is, was it my shot, or my dad's shot. I guess the world will never know.

Lesson to be learned... don't be in the line of fire in any situation.

The last time i was drinking and playing with guns... somone got shot in the butt. Awesome.

Grammar... HA!

To the creator of the following comment (aka anonymous),

"Anonymous said...
Nice grammar, dude. You should proofread your posts before you start calling other people stupid.

8:57 AM"

Clearly you have taken offense to some of my blogs because you are now critiquing my grammar. Hello.... I'm Gekius, do you think i care about grammar. I don't think so. You can look through all 90 something of my posts as of this moment and probably find a 1000 grammatical errors. Congratulations. Want a cookie?

I'm not sure what about this particular entry set you off, but I've done some quick analysis and come up with a few possible reasons why this blog tickled your toes:

1. You work at burger king and make fries like K-Fed will be doing soon. Making fries is not a bad job man, and I'm impressed that with that grammatical knowledge you have, you haven't taken your skills to Jack In The Box

2. Your name is Hulk Hogan. Enough said. You have issues due to the multiple fights with Andre the Giant (R.I.P Andre).

3. You have aspired all your life to be the cup stacking champion of Norman, Oklahoma, it was your dream ever since you were 6. Then at the age of 7 and a half, your finger got stuck up your own butt doing who knows what (probably your sister knows) and twisted extremely bad. The doctors said you would never stack cups like you did before. Boo hoo. Now that you are 10 and learning all the grammatical rules in the 3rd grade, you decided it was time to take some vengeance. I understand your problems. I know a few good child therapists that can probably help you. Just please leave your name and number and I'll help you out. I'm here to serve like Obama.

4. You come from Atlanta, Denver, or Oklahoma.

5. You may not even have a job... Given your amazing grammatical skills though, I find this hard to believe (dude is such a great thing to call me by the way... but i prefer Gekius... or your majesty).

6. You may be retarded. I'm sorry, I know this wasn't PC and it isn't nice to laugh about this stuff but some people think its funny, so get over it.

7. You really do play Magic the Gathering or like Pokemon and still think both are cool. In this case, I'll just let it be. And I hope you find a good troll of a wife someday to marry you.

8. You are the kid in the photo. You win the jackpot, Glamour Shots with out cups in front of you. Congratulations.

9. Anonymous... get a real name or grow some balls.

10. Wait for it... I know... Since in your comment you seem to be offended that I called other people stupid, you must be stupid. Ahh... it was so obvious. Why didn't I see this right from the start.

Anyways, please let me know which of the options above are the reason for your comment, or just tell me the grammatical error and I will fix it. I'm always aiming to please others, so just let me know. Love,

Gekius

In other recent news

Britney has gone a little crazy. We all know by now that she is my x-girlfriend and is my baby's momma. I hope she is able to get through all of the crazy times she is having. She isn't looking so great in below:

And in this picture she has some slight resemblance to the devil... hmm ... interesting:

Cup Stacking... A Sport

Are you f'in kidding me?

I'm not sure if you have heard of this stupid new phenomenon amongst the kids these days... and no I'm not talking about Pokemon, because that was so 10 years ago. And I'm not talking about Magic the Gathering, because everyone knows was the best child game that ever existed and only cool people like me still play it (I have an 11th degree wizard that can crush any card you throw out... so be scared if you ever dare try playing me).

Anyways, cup stacking, it's a speed game (not a sport) where kid's (I hope adults don't waste their time with this nonsense game) stack cups and unstack them in formations as quickly as possible. Sounds like a game for your standard mentally retarded kid if you ask me... but they are letting "normal" kids do this. They have competitions. They have world rankings. They are... stupid.

All i know is if my kid ever asked to go to a competition, the events would unfold like this. I would act gleefully that they have chosen such an awesome sport to pursue their dreams in. Sign them up... pay the fee or whatever needed to be done. On day of competition, give them a nice big breakfast. Then we would start driving. I would drive for so long that they fell asleep and take them to a far away remote place. When i felt like we were in the middle of no where, i would pick the kid up out of the car as they were sleeping... and drop them off with the following note:

"Here is your challenge should you choose to accept. Cup Stacking is stupid, if i ever catch you trying to do it again, i will drop you off much further and this time with no food or water. You will find in your bag one nalgene and two granola bars. Good luck. Hope to see you at home sometime tonight. Be safe and I love you."

I think that would be a successful lesson taught to my child and they would learn not to play stupid games like Cup Stacking.

The only reason cup stacking might be acceptable, is if it were somehow turned into a drinking game for kids. That would be hilarious and i would hope that ESPN would broadcast it, because drunk kids trying to stack cups would be funnier than Hulk Hogan trying to manage his f'd up family.

Please note the kid in the photo will never amount to anything. Yeah he can stack and unstack cups with one hand in 5.3 seconds, but what will he really do with his life... my best guess... Burger King Fry maker.

BTW... if you haven't check out "What Would Tyler Durden Do"... you should. Two words. Hil Arious

Obamination

I was told by Barack Obama earlier this afternoon to tell my friends that he is the man. This is me telling you that he is the man. I'm calling it right now, he will be the next president. Unless Rudy starts doing something right... its no competition... Barack will obaminate the competition.

Note: Image is of Barack at age 14 trippin on some wicked LSD. At least... that's my best guess.

Prosperous

If you are reading this blog entry... you should probably consider yourself to be pretty lucky. For one, you must not be dirt poor because you have access to the Internet. And two, you can read, so you have a skill that 18% of the world does not have. I know I have lived a very fortunate life and have been very lucky. Even during difficult times, you have to always think that there is someone that has it much more difficult. A lot more. So I definitely encourage everyone that is fortunate enough to donate money to charities/runs/walks/biking/ or others that just need help. Most of these things are tax deductible, so it's a good deal in the long run.

Anyways, I found this new website I'm going to plug for a minute called Prosper.com. Sounds like some kind of Internet dating site... but really its a lender/borrower site that brings someone who needs money for some financial reason in contact with several lenders who are willing to provide that money at a cost (interest rate). So basically prosper acts as an intermediary for people who need money and people that want to lend money and make some profit. I signed up for an account and am going to do a trial period to make sure it works (only investing 100 bucks initially). There is always a chance that the borrower will default, in that case, you may lose some of your money. Which is why you must diversify your portfolio and only give small amounts to multiple people... so that if a couple people default, then you have lost all your apples. If you are interested in how this turns out for me... let me know and I will be sure to tell you if it is profitable. After looking through the site, the average return rate is at least 8-10%, which is higher than any savings account and is typically better than the average stock market return (average gain in market is 8%). So hopefully this works out... if so, I might have found a new way to waste my life away... AWESOME!

Who is ready for Friday? I know I sure am... my weekend consists of going out to a few happy hours (where i will not get drunk), maybe a movie or two, some climbing, maybe running if weather permits, and 2 hockey games. All in all, I've been very good about keeping my drinking in check the past month, the only times I've been drunk were in Whistler... which is in Canada, so everything i did there did not count... anyways... hopefully i can continue this streak. We will see.

Also, I just ate 5 cookies. I need to stop doing that. For some reason, when I only want one... I grab five and eat them in less than a minute.

Also... the guy in the picture above... his name is fortunate. Isn't that weird.

She Tasted Like Cigarettes..

Cigarettes... I can still remember the first girl that i kissed that had been smoking sometime around freshman year in college. To my surprise at the time, it actually kind of tasted pretty good. Later that night i realized in my drunken state that she had actually been chewing some kind of Cinnamon gum combined with the taste of cigarettes which synergized and made an amazing flavor. One i have yet to be able to recreate since that night... but it was still great. Someday it will be a flavor of Gatorade or something like that (Cinnamon Cigarette Ice Gatorade... sounds... refreshing?). And I digress.

Anyways, back in the day i used to smoke. Well if you consider that I've probably smoked maybe 10 cigarettes in my life and they have all been in the past ... 6 -8 years probably. So I'm not perfect right, but who is besides a girl named Kathy that I've heard of from a friend.

Since when did smoking become cool... i mean i know it has been for a long time, but why and what made it cool. People say that cigarettes take of pressure and make them feel better, which makes sense i guess... but it also kills you at the same time (please note... i do tons of things that speed up my life, because I'm not perfect, but smoking is a vice that bothers me).

I guess i really just don't think it is fair for people to be allowed to smoke in bars/restaurants/ or any place of business. It isn't right for them to contaminate the air that i breathe and the cloths i wear with the horrific smokey smell.

Alright alright, enough bitching... all I'm saying is that if Austin, New York, LA, Minneapolis, and others can successfully outlaw smoking in all public places, then the rest of the united states should be able to do it (except for in Oklahoma... everyone knows they have problems). Someday this will happen, hopefully i will still be going to bars at this time so that i can enjoy the clean air act that will be passed.

Peace out.

My morning... My weekend... My life

I get my marble loaf and apple juice and proceed to my gate. I sit down 3 seats from a woman who is slightly overweight, brown hair, bangs that aren't exactly even going across the bottom of her fore head, and overall looks like a very nice women.

"Where is the Starbucks at?"

"Just about three to four gates down, not too far."

"Oh, well I'm kind of hungry, so maybe I'll just go get some burger King."

I smile and say "Good idea"... but deep down I hate burger King with a passion. The four years i was at the University of Texas, there was a burger king right next to where i spent most of my college career (by the BC office). I ate there way too much and cannot stand the smell/taste/or thought of burger king to this day. There is even one 2 blocks from where i live, I've never been there and do not plan on ever going there. I think the only way I'd ever go to a burger king is if it were the last place on earth. And I Digress.

"My friends say I'm a social butterfly"

"That's a good quality to have" I say.

Then she asks, "Are you a business man?". I'm assuming she asks this because I'm wearing my sport coat, slacks, and a dress shirt.

"Yes maam I am." I wasn't really sure what to say, since businessman is such a generic term that in some ways, i wouldn't want to be called that.

She then goes on to tell me that she is from Dallas and why she is heading to Rochester NY.

"I have epilepsy. The doctors here in Dallas have told me that I need to go there and that they are running out of ideas. I'm currently on 4500 MG of medication a day to control it." So less than 5 minutes of talking to her, she begins to tell me all about it and how the clinic there is kind of her last resort. I begin to feel very bad for her, but have no idea what to say. If I knew her, I think i would be ok. I guess i was shocked that she would provide this kind of information to a complete stranger minutes within meeting them.

By this time I have finished my marble loaf and apple juice and am trying to figure out if there is some kind of exit strategy. I know it sounds mean, but I just did not feel like talking about this at 530 am... is that wrong of me?

Finally, they start the boarding process. I tell her good luck and hope that everything works out well. I think she might have just been nervous and wanted to talk. For me though... 530 am is not the best time to talk to me... unless I've been up all night and am doped up on cocaine and hypnotic.

This past weekend I cleaned my room. It is now cleaner than it ever has been before since i moved in 10 months ago. It was a great weekend. This is me breathing.

Stupid Question

I work in an office.

I work on a floor with one men's restroom.

There are no kids in the building where I work.

SO why do they have one urinal at man level... and one urinal at kid's level....

think about it.

Who am i?

Am I George or Jerry? I've had this debate with myself for quite sometime which is very odd to the average person I'm sure. Of course who would want to be George... he's always a mental wreck and stressed out beyond all possible means, while Jerry is always calm, happy, and enjoying his life.

The Analysis:

Comparison to George:
1. George is bald.... I am not (well not yet, i was recently told that i will be someday most likely)
2. George carries an overly obese wallet.... while I carry a slim wallet and keep only the essential stuff in it.
3. George freaks out constantly about girls... I... well.. I... ok yes i freak out about girls
4. George likes his Kung Pao Chicken spicy... I on the other hand dislike spicy food.
5. George has dated super models... the closest I got to a super model was when i stalked Naomi Campbell for three weeks and created a hair doll out of the hair that fell out of her head. These days i'm not allowed to be within 500 meters of her, but it was well worth it.
6. George experiences shrinkage... I'm a guy, don't we all experience this.
7. George killed his fiance... while i haven't had a fiancee, i did once drive a girl to see a therapist
8. George is cheap... I am cheap
9. George yells a lot and stresses out... I can't remember the last time I yelled, but i do stress out a lot
10. George likes cuban cigars... I love cuban cigars.

Comparison to Jerry:
1. Jerry is a jew... I am not a jew.
2. Jerry is good with the ladies... typically i'm not so good with the ladies
3. Jerry is funny... while i like to think I am funny
4. Jerry is not a threesome kind of guy... i am not a threesome kind of guy
5. Jerry once date his twin... I have never dated my twin
6. Jerry was the "fastest" runner in high school because he cheated... I used to win at poker because I cheated.
7. Jerry once stole a marble rye from an old woman... while I once stole a tootsie roll from Randall's when I was 6 years old.
8. Jerry agrees that a salad counts as a dinner... while i too agree that salad = dinner
9. Jerry always had a thing for asian women... i've been told i have a thing for asian women
10. Jerry once dated a gymnast... I once dated a gymnast

All in all... it is clear to see who i resemble more. The obvious answer is Elaine Bennis.

I'm back

Yes... that's right, I survived the trecherous Whistler mountain in a very fun and eventful ski trip with 8 other guys. That's right... making for a total of 9.

Skiing in Whistler has to have been the best I've ever been able to experience, probably because i was actually challenged a lot since the guys i skiied with were a lot better than me. Only one near death experience when i almost hit a tree, but somehow, i missed it after losing control when skiing through the trees (not my most favorite thing, thats for sure).

As far as future trips go... I'm not really sure. I imagin sometime in the next month i'll make a climbing expedition trip to Oklahoma of all places and maybe a few trips to Austin... other than that who knows.

FYI... did you know that there are some periods during the month that the Moon is not visible. This stage is called New Moon and is the first stage of the lunar cycle. In this phase the Moon's unilluminated side is facing the Earth, causing the moon to not be visible (except during a solar eclipse.

A full lunar cycle lasts on average 29.5 days. Everyonce in a while a full moon will occure twice in one month, this is called a Blue Moon and takes place every 2.7 years on average. The next Blue moon will be taking place in June, so be prepared when it comes.

The above information about the moon is my Valentine's Day present to all :). Enjoy and have a good Valentine's Day.

What is up from Vancouver?

So i left for Whistler today/yesterday i guess (it's 216 am dallas time). So far, the trip has been interesting.

My flight to Houston was quick. I slept the entire way. Woke up and had to run across the airport to make it to my next flight. That was not fun.

One thing I'm not sure if i told most people about my trip, is that this coming weekend... is Gay Pride weekend (or something like that) in Whistler. So of course... there were Gays on a Plane (not snakes, not sure which is worse...jk).

It was quite funny, there were all your sterotypical gay guys right in front of me. The "flamboyant pudgy looks like he is/was in the army gay man" was definitley putting on show. The "black shaved head extremely well dressed gay man" who was very drunk and stumbling when he got off the plane. And finally the "my cloths used to belong to an 11 year old girl and i bleach my hair to look cool gay man".

There was also an old man next to me... with a cowboy had, down puffy vest, yellow shirt, bald head, and i'm not sure how much english he spoke. But the small amount that i did hear was that he was upset that the lady on the other side of the aisle had brought water on the plane. For some reason, he didn't think it was allowed... uhh.. hello... that was so last year. Get with the times...jk.

One advantage to having an ipod... people don't talk to you on a plane even though the music is playing inside my head, but they don't know that.... fools.

Hopefully no one is offended by the above comments... if so, get over it..jk.

The trip concluded with the flight attendants passing out the cards that you have to fill out when you come in to canada stating where you are going etc. Of course... I don't have a pen. I notice the guy next to me does and he is using it... so i figure i'll wait for it. Then i notice he is coughing like crazy into the pen... damn it. I really need a pen, and there is nothing else around. I end up using it. ANd so does everyone else in my row. That pen is like the village bike... everyone got a ride. Anyways, i'm immune to getting sick... right ERG?

ALright.. well i guess i should pass out in my awesome hotel bed (Hilton Vancouver Airport... it's a decent place). Have a good weekend everyone. We'll miss you Sidney. Peace.

Swoosh! Boing! Bop!

So i went to a Mavs game last night with this really awesome girl (ERG). They won of course and basically blew the other team out of the water. They made the other team look like a middle school B team by scoring 40 points just in the first quarter. The game was great, but it seems to me that these days it's almost like a theatrical performance.

The basketball is microphoned. Which seemed very odd to me, I guess it is to give the feeling that you are close to the court and can hear/feel/see everything that is happening, even though i was about 100 feet away. The first few times it scared me, then it almost became normal that i could hear the ball hit the rim even over the sound of the crowd cheering. During time outs and intermissions, a variety of shows are put on that definitely make things more interesting and fun.

After the game had a glass of wine at Vino 100 which was very good. My goal this month is to hit up every wine bar at least once. At the rate I'm going, 3 wine bars in 2 weeks, it should not be a problem :). They are much better than normal bars, mostly because i don't come down with a mild case of emphasema before leaving, and they are generaly more relaxed which is what i like to be.

Tonight I leave for my Whistler Ski Trip. Myself and 9 other guys (only 3 of which i know) will be sharing a 10 person condo. Should be an interesting trip. I'm going to do what i can to pace myself at drinking so that i can actually enjoy the skiing part of the trip. I'm only planning on actualy skiing two days... and on the third doing some other kind of activity (maybe snow shoeing or something that i've never tried). My plan is to do some grocery shopping once i get there tomorrow and live pretty cheapily off cheap mealsfood (diet consisting of granola bars, soup, and pasta...).

So I most likely won't be posting again until Wednesday. Don't miss me too much.

jpb

This week I have eaten four jelly n peanut butter sandwiches in three days. Sometimes I wonder if they are bad for me. I ate one every day almost as a kid and for some reason this week I felt like being a kid again by bringing my jelly n peanut butter sandwich with me to work. What i forget is that I'm at least twice the size of what i was when I was 10. Therefore, I need twice the amount of food. However, i continue to only bring one sandwich and then getting hungry by around mid afternoon.

Solution to this problem... pack two sandwiches.

One interesting thing i used to do with my jelly and peanut butter sandwiches was to add sprinkles onto the peanut butter. This would give the sandwich and extra kick of crunch along with some sugar to get me going.

Who remembers the Peanut Butter Jelly Time song... i know i sure do. In case you were stuck in a black hole when this came out... check this out.

Anti Denti

Typically... I'm very what you call... Anti Denti, but after this morning, some might say I am pro-denti.

Morning started out extremely early like most Tuesday's... 6 am wake up. A lot of times on Tuesday this would be considered late and at this time I would already be on a plane up to Minnesota. But today, I get to stay in Dallas. My Dentist appointment was for 7 am, and I'm not too sure why I set it up for this time, I guess because I like to get it out of the way.

Anyways, all in all, I typically do not like going to the dentist. Maybe it's the scratching and grinding of the teeth or the taste of that strange stuff they put on your teeth to "polish" them. Possibly the taste of the rubber gloves in my mouth, definitely not my favorite. Not really sure what it is, but I like others, dread going to the dentist.

The lady that cleaned my teeth this morning was very nice and asked me a lot about what was going on in my life. Which i had no problem telling her, but the best part about her was right after i opened my mouth, she said my teeth already look great. My guilty conscious comes into the dentist waiting for them to tell me that i have cavities. After hearing what she said, i was pretty confident the rest of the visit would go well. She did make some recommendations for me to brush in certain places more than others, which i really appreciate because i never know if I'm doing something wrong.

Today will be a long day and so will tomorrow. Work the rest of the day, dinner in Southern Oklahoma, last load of laundry before Whistler, Hockey at 1030... then sleep.

Tomorrow... work... then the mavs game with ERG. It will be good times.

I'm out.

cheese... what cheese

I think i posted about 5 minutes ago... my cheese is all gone. :(

Oh well.

Cheese

It's noon... I have 5 pieces of cheese left for the day to last until 5 PM. If i ration reasonably, once piece of cheese per hour... then I win.

it goes like this... not that

"Grande Gingerbread Non Fat No whip 140 Degree Latte"... coming from a true Starbucks Professional.

This past weekend went really well if I have to say so myself. I was able to get a lot done and had a some really fun times. So here is the weekend wrap up...

Friday night started out with me going climbing right after work. I haven't been in about 2 weeks and it felt nice to actually get back out and do a few 5.9s. Today I will go again after work. After climbing, went out to celebrate Ben's birthday. Started at the loon, had a few drinks with some of the hockey guys, then proceeded to Quarter Bar. I probably drank more than I should have, but all in all I kept everything in control.

Saturday... woke up around 9ish and did my taxes (I know, I'm a dork... i like to get them done early). It was a great feeling of accomplishment (only had to call my dad about 6 times and send him about 6 emails for help... no biggie though). After that made a quick trip to REI to get some gloves for my whistler trip next weekend, and then remembered that my friend was in town for a judo tournament. Drove halfway to West Texas (Hurst) and hung out with my JFF (judo fighting friend). What an interesting sport to watch, it's kind of cool to see people get thrown and slammed down on to a mat. Supposedly they know how to fall and so it does not hurt, but it doesn't look to pleasant if you ask me. After the tournament, drove home quickly... changed into running cloths. Ran 1.5 miles to the Gingerman. Had a beer with big D and then ran the 1.5 miles back (training for white rock 07). Took a shower and got ready for the night life. Saturday night was great. Went to Cafe Izmar with this really cool girl (Elbow Room Girl :) ). Afterwards went back to her place and I let her cat lick my head. For some reason the cat liked it. It was funny.

Sunday morning woke up around 9ish... went to breakfast with ERG and then to church again (That's right... two times in two weeks... beat it). It was an interesting service, learned all about what happiness is and how we are not supposed to always be happy. That's just how life is. Sunday afternoon, went for another nice 30 minute run in the awesome Dallas weather that we had this weekend (cold at night and amazing during the day). Then hung out with ERG and watched the super duper bowl... with not so super commercials. Tried a new beer (Red Bridge) and some awesome carrot cake. Both were gluten free and tasted amazingly well.

All in all it was a great weekend. I came to the realization that I do not need an ipod... i can just play the music inside my head.

My Starbucks order... "Tall White Mocha"... much easier to say.

Hello Spring!

In case you missed the news, Punxsutawney Phil did not see his shadow this morning which is great news. The last time Phil did not see his shadow was 1999, so it's only been 8 years. So we are definitely due for an early spring.

This makes me happy because for some reason my office is kept at Minnesota temperatures. I'm not sure if they have the AC or we just don't have heat in Texas because it just never gets that cold. I'm ready for some warmer weather though... but not 100 degree weather... just some 60 -80 degree weather. So that i can be outside and be comfortable.

Have a good weekend... because you know I will.

Home

I am ready to go home. How about you?

Today is Friday #1 for me... i say this because in a way it feels like Friday since this is my last day in Minnesota. It's kind of cool getting two friday's in one week, not many people get that kind of experience. Most people would kill for this kind of feeling... jealous?

That is all. this is me breathing
