you too?

So here are situations I kind of hate it... because i catch myself saying You too... when it clearly makes no sense.

Scenario: I'm on the phone with my client. It is Thursday afternoon. My flight is in about 3 hours and this is the last time I will speak with her until after my flight. End of conversation goes something like this...

Me: yada yada wrap up conversation yada yada
Client: Hope you have a safe flight
Me: You too (thinking wait... she isn't flying... I'm the one that is going to have a safe flight, not her)
Client: Bye bye
Me: Bye

So why did I say you too. My best guess is that i said it out of bad habit because this situation happens a lot to me. Is this just my own personal problem... or does it happen to you too?

don't put that up your nose

Kids love to do crazy stupid things... such as stick things up their noses. One of my sibblings as a kid stuck a bead up her nose and it got stuck. She had to go to the emergency room.

The kid in the photo above definitely has two crayons in his nose at the moment. I'm not sure if he was able to get them out, or if he was doing this for an art project to make two straight lines with two colors at the exact same time.

We all make mistakes.... i just make at least one per day.

And I digress.

Tonight I went to two bars... had zero beers. Beat it.

Last night, the Bruins faced a tough loss to the Devils. Tomorrow night is game 2 out of 3 in the series. I'll get off the plane about 630... then make it to the game by 8. Game time is 830... it is a must win situation or the season is over for good.

Jucy Whocy?

Last night I was able to experience Minneapolis more than I ever have in the past 16 months that I have been here. A good friend of my roommate lives here and I went out with her and her boyfriend and got to see some interesting places around the Minneapolis area.

We started at a placed called Matt's Bar which is kind of a dive type of bar that only accepts cash. They are infamous in Minneapolis for their Jucy Lucy burgers which consist of two meat patties cooked with cheese in between them. So basically when you bite into the burger, ridiculously hot cheese goes everywhere. They are very tasty and are a great idea, but I believe they would taste better with some good ole Texas Beef, but that's just my opinion.

After eating delicious fatty burgers, we drove to a place called Pyscho Suzies which is well known for their crazy hawaiianish drinks. We ordered a Volcanic Eruption which is 50 oz of rum mixed with other crap and in the middle of the bowl is a small amount of 151 that is lit on fire and remains on fire for about 5 minutes. Pretty cool idea if you ask me. After a few cherry tying contests in the mouth and finishing that... it was time for me to go to bed.

My time here in Minneapolis is winding down... I'm glad I got to see something more than Nicolett Mall and the rest of downtown. I'll probably miss this place in a lot of ways, but being back in Texas for a while will also be really nice. I'll know my departure date probably sometime this afternoon... wait for it.

Trifecta Celibratica

Yup... I did it. I completed the trifecta this week. Aka, going out and staying up until at least 2 am three school nights in a row. Not sure how or why... but i'll give a brief recap of the past three nights.

Tuesday - This was the only of the three nights that I got drunk. A friend of mine moves to LA today so he wanted to go out on Tuesday... not sure why i did. But i found myself at the Grapevine. Not sure if I have ever described the grapevine to Gekius readers, but it's a bar that typically has the following demographics:

85% Gay
5% Tranny(pre op)
2 % Tranny(post op)
10% Straight

I know... I know... these numbers don't add up. This is how f'd up the Grapevine really is... nothing really adds up there. I've seen some of the weirdest people there... and most of them have just finished dusting snakes. The music is always rockin... and this night nothing was different. Definitely by the end of the night some girl was flashing the bartender to get a free shot. And after flashing the bartender... she definitely turned and flashed us since we were some of the only people left at the bar. No thank you i thought politely. Anyways, we drank two bottles of champagne between us and the rest was history. And i digress.

Wednesday - I watch two television shows (American Idol and Medium). Everything is going great... it's 11 pm and I'm almost ready for bed. Then, my phone rings. I need to learn to just not pick it up at certain times from certain people. It was an old friend that i hadn't seen in 6 months and she wanted to go to ghost bar. So i go. I laid low most of the night, but she got wasted. Luckily i got to take care of her and babysit until 3 am. Long fun night.

Ghost Bar btw is another f'd up bar if you ask me. In my opinion... this is the breakdown of the ghost bar

-15% hottest porn star looking girls that are just there to get laid and free drinks
-60% biggest TDB (total douche bags) of the metroplex that are there to buy drinks and get laid
-3% normal people (I like to count myself in this category)
-17% of the people are from Grand Prairie. I definitely saw a guy with a pony tail down to his ass and he was dipping and spitting his shit in an ashtray... wtf is all I'm saying.
-4% of the people are retarded (this would include the staff)
-1% of the people are with escorts (aka the old Chinese business man with glasses that looks like a complete dork with the hot blond chick that is trying to act interested)

Anyways... that's just my breakdown of the bar. Go to it and form your own opinion... but tell me I'm not wrong after you go there.

Thursday - So i found out on Thursday night that one of my best friends (whom i will be his best man in his wedding in a few months), was in town. So of course i had to go out. I decided to lay pretty low again and only have a few beers. Night was fun and consisted of good bars for a change (idle rich and gingerman). All beer was paid for by his company... aka Kite-flying Passionate Motivators Galore (not sure what that means... but don't take it the wrong way... its just the only thing i could come up with that the letters might stand for?). All in all, the night was fun and Friday morning came too quickly. And i digress.

Tonight - Will be a low key. I plan on watching Pirates of the Caribbean part 2 since the lovely netflix fairy brought it to me yesterday. Tomorrow morning i have a 645 am run with a friend which should be great. Looking forward to it.

Back to work.

TV Sucks

I read today that this past spring, more than 2.5 million few people have been watching ABC, CBS, NBC, and FOX than at the same time last year.

Is this a bad thing.

No.

This is great. This means people are actually doing something other than watching Television. For once people might be getting off their butts and doing something other than watching a box with pictures and sounds frying our brains. Don't get me wrong, i own a television, two in fact, and I watch my fair share of shows. But I also believe that America needs to start spending less time in front of the box, and more time doing productive things.

Just a rant. See ya.

yup

so i'm pretty sure that what i just did was retarded. Sometimes I don't even think what I'm doing and next thing I know I wake up and its 9 am and i'm late for work. Life is weird. Someone please convince me that moving to another country is a good idea.

Therapy is in progress. This is me breathing.

Cinco de Seis

The weekend was a good one... went way to fast, but got some stuff done and had a good time.

Friday night started off at the Stoneleigh P with some coworkers and progressed through the night as we hopped bar to bar to bar. I was laying somewhat lay knowing that the 715 am the next morning would be coming very soon. Hit up the Loon, Idle Rich, Gingerman, Tribeca, and finally Quarter bar. Essentially we went to just about every bar off Mckinney in the Uptown area. After passing out quickly around 220 am, the alarm buzzed loud and clear that it was time to get up and shower.

Drove down to East Dallas and did Habitat For Humanity. It was great. We did landscaping for the house which is one of the last steps in the process of the house. Lots of grass was laid, and my back was definitely soar. We were able to complete 1.5 houses in about three hours. After that, we took a little trip to good ole freebirds and filled the stomach up. Got home around 1215... took another shower and prepared for the cinco de mayo party. I was in charge of cooking three pounds of meat which was a lot of fun. Then relaxed for a while until i got the idea to play some quarters. The fun began and the good times rolled. Following that, we hurried to the Gwen Stefani concert and had a good time. The show was fun and everyone had a good time.

Sunday morning came quick. I installed a ceiling fan in my living room (which was more of a work out then I ever thought it would be). Then went to drop 400 bucks on 2 new tires, oil change, and some new belts for my car... very nice. After that I went to the gingerman for a few beers with some friends, then went to half of a dinner party that a friend was having for his birthday. Left pretty quickly for my 845 pm game, which we lost 5-3, but it was still a fun game.

All in all, it was a good weekend. Busy week ahead, let's get it out of the way quickly. Ready ... break.

are you kidding

So I used the restroom (probably for the 5th time at work today, I've been drinking a lot of water if you can't tell) and there is a guy walking in right before me. He is using the urinal next to me... doing his thing, zips up, walks away. I don't hear any hand washing just a door swinging closed in the wind.

Normally, i just add these people to my dirty laundry list and try not to think much of it, but this guy was carrying items that should be sanitary. And by items, I mean a baby carrier dealio ( i don't know the real term because i don't know a damn thing about babies). After leaving the bathroom, he picks up the baby from his wife and put it in the carriage. He may as well have dropped his pants, taken a slash (Australian for piss) all over the baby, and then rubbed his marbles all over the baby. Hopefully he didn't give the baby scabies or anything nasty like that.
I really hope he ate crawfish prior to using the restroom, because everyone knows that when at a crawfish boil, wash before and after or else you'll get some scary disease.

i'm not mad... i'm just disapointed

I've been living in Dallas for three years. I'm not the biggest Mavs fan, but I really do enjoy seeing my home team win. It makes everyone happy at the bars and at work. The series against golden state though has been such a let down though. They have the best regular season record and then get spanked in the playoffs like it was their job. It was just a big let down.

This weekend should be fun. We shall see... more to come later today... just wanted to express my sadness for the Mavs.

My Girl Is Back

I'm not sure if everyone knows or not... if not then you need to stop eating fried Donkey dong and start watching the news... but my girlfriend is back on stage and back to rolling in the dough. I ain't talking about play-doh... i'm talking about the rain dough. She is definitely making it rain, and I'm definitely swimming in her rain.

Now that she is back to performing I'll probably be quiting my job soon and joining her on tour. She needs someone like me to keep her spirits up and spike her cokes with rum so she can get wild. I'm really good at doing her make up and making her look like the 25 year old hot whore that she is.

Anyfart, I'll be videotaping a lot of the tour and posting on YouTube for the world to watch. Hopefully it will be picked up by MTV (not the stupid WB like K-Fed did... wtf was he thinking ... umm.. yeah... he's a retard). So wait for it... because it's coming faster than a three dollar hooker can dust a snake.

Note: This picture of her is definitely my favorite. In her head she is thinking... WTF... how did i become famous with such a great song called Hit Me Baby One More Time... the world must be sipping too much syrup.

The point of that was

I'm sure we've all had to talk to those stupid answering services for big companies prior to getting to speak with a real person. Some of them are pretty impressive, and some of them are not.

I called Sprint this morning to transfer my service to a different phone that I own. I called the number on the website that was specific about transferring service to a new phone. I followed the instructions, provided the number on the back of the phone, my social security number, my telephone number, and maybe one other piece of info I don't remember. Then I get transferred to a person. She asks for the same information all over again, so why did they make me enter the information on the phone. This doesn't really make sense to me, shouldn't all my information that i just entered pop up on the CSR's screen?

Maybe I'm just crazy and expect better from a company like Sprint.

Tardiness is Unacceptable

Well, it had to happen. After 15 months of traveling, I've only had one missed flight, and been delayed only one time on my return flight. But today, it was my flight to the great white north that was delayed. Although it may have only been a 30 minute delay and some how i swear we still got to Minneapolis at the exact same time as always, there was a delay.

The flight was supposed to begin boarding at 7:15. At 7:43 a women came up and tried to walk through and get on the plane. The AA employee nicely told the women that the flight had been delayed. She shrugged her shoulders in disappointment. Disappointed i thought... are you you crazy. The flight was supposed to be leaving at 745 am, she would have missed the flight if it had been on time. She should have sighed in relief... not disappointment.

In other news I found out today that my client has been interviewing people to replace me. This is somewhat good news and somewhat bad. I've been at this client for 15 months at the moment. They are extremely nice, and the work load is what i consider light compared to other projects. Although I am ready for a new challenge which I am looking forward to. Hopefully it will be a great project with an awesome potential for experience.

Other then that i ran a little over 3.5 miles tonight which felt great. Last night I did about 3. For some reason I keep forgetting to grab my watch to time my run which is pretty important to me as it gives me some kind of indication of how far I'm running.

Go Mavs.

Cheese Bushes in Paradise

The weekend was of course... a little crazy. But that is to be expected if you ask me at this point. Friday we had our semi annual meeting for work at Six Flags over Texas... I didn't ride any of the rides apparently because I'm a girl. I don't know why, I just wasn't feeling it. Maybe it's because last year I remember the pain the Texas Giant inflicted upon me, or maybe it was the boozing up that i did the night before until 2 am. I don't know exactly which, but i can guess it was the later.

Anyways, after Six Flags we go to our mecca... aka the stoneleigh P. Have a few drinks there, then decided it would be fun to watch the Mavs game at the corner bar. Sounds like a good idea... couple of bottles of boones farm and tons of shots later... it's all the sudden 2 am. AP anyone? Your damn right there was an AP and it was at my place. Until 6 am. I mostly remember drinking lots of beer, a bottle of wine, trying to climb on top of my roof and almost falling and killing myself, attempting to name the capital of every state (Dover is the capital of Delaware btw), bringing the red chair out on the balcony, and smoking a few cancer sticks. All in all, it was one hell of a marathon but a lot of fun.

Saturday... the day was pretty much shot since by the time i woke and ran to my car... it was already time to go to the Jimmy Buffet concert. This is one thing I think I'm going to have to recommend that everyone go to at some point in their life. And you need to go soon, because Jimmy is getting pretty damn old. We got to the concert grounds around 430. Tons of RVs set up and tons of people drinking already. There were Jimmy Buffet cover bands and tons of old men and women. I've never seen so many 50 + year old people dancing or so many old men with their shirts off who really should have just kept them on... and i digress. Lots of beer flowed and then when we actually made it inside to watch the concert around 730ish... lines for beer and margaritas were out of control. That's just the way it is sometimes. The crowd was crazy and everyone was having a good time. Well, almost everyone. One lady did get mad at me and told me to "Suck on her Shutup cicle".... what ever that meant, i don't really know. But she didn't seem to happy with me. Considering i don't think i ever really said anything to her... but that's life sometimes.

After the concert i had a drink with a good friend. It was very nice and yeah.

Sunday... i mopped, vacuumed, did some laundry, slept a little, and made things nice. It was good.

7 days ... starts now. Ready go.

Burning Money

I just looked and figured out how much i spent in alcohol in the past few months... and wow is all i can say. If i added alcohol to my budget, it would definitely surpass food expenditures and almost everything else on my budget.

I guess that is just how it is though. Oh well.

I drank a dr pepper yesterday

It was rough... i've gone about two months without a coke(jack and coke does not gount). But last night as I ate Sal's Pizza... i couldn't help myself.

Oh well. Back to square 1.

Dude... where's my car

The weekend festivities began with a Friday After Work 3 mile run. No better way to start yourself off with a nice run to get you going. Following the run I immediately decided that I needed to do some carb loading at the Gingerman. Following that we had dinner at the P. Then a drink at Windmill Lounge. Then back to the infamous Gingerman for a birthday celebration. Darts were definitely thrown and we definitely were champions. 2 am rolls around. Time to go home. Luckily I wasn't drinking very much for the last 2 hours, so i felt confident in my driving abilities to drive the 1 mile. I walk to the parking lot... make a loop around. And realize I have no idea where my car is. Wander around some more, have a friend drive me around, run into some other friends who think it is a riot (which it was) that i lost my car. Ha Ha Ha... i laugh. Not really. 20 minutes later... it hits me... i parked about 100 m from the bar on a side street. At this point it was easy to find since there were no longer 100 cars on the street, instead, just mine sitting there alone waiting for me. GO home... sleep...

8 am...rolls around quickly, let me tell you. Wake up, drive two hours for a little family get together. Eat some BBQ... then i start feeling back to normal again some how. Leave there around 5ish... drive 1 more hour down to Austin Tx to visit some friends.

Luckily, Austin has a Gingerman, so i was able to go from home away from home but just in another city. Few drinks flowed, someone got pooped on by a bird, some dudes at Lavaca street bar wanted to fight us because we didn't want to give up the shuffle board table. We made up some story that we were playing to 52 for some reason, and they complained that everyone knows you play to 21 (which is true)... we however ignored this rule and pissed the losers off. They weren't even really drinking... hello... get a beer and relax man. We'll be done when we are done. After gingerman, we got to the ghetto Taco Cabana in south Austin. Get my second chicken Quesadilla in 24 hours then proceed to the car. My friend whom I am driving home hops in the car as i say good bye to some people. I follow her lead and hop in the drivers seat. As soon as i sit down, i think to myself... damn... did i take a nap earlier. Because the car seat is definitely either in sleeping position or ghetto gangsta position. Then i realize... wow... my seat feels so smooth almost like leather ... wait... I have cloth seats. SHIT... this is not my car. I look to my friend and yell... get out of the car, this isn't my car. She looks around too realizing we are not in my car. We get out inconspicuously hoping the thug that owned it didn't see us... and realize my car is right next to it. We migrate to it and get in quickly and drive home.

Sunday... woke up late at 945 am knowing i had a lunch at 1230 pm. It takes 3 hours to drive from ATX to BIG D. I realize i will be 15 minutes late. That is ok. Make the drive, get to the restaurant, no one is there. hmm. Talk to the lady, she clarifys our reservation is for 115. Awesome. I run home, do the three S's... and go back to the restaurant for lunch. Few hours later... its bar Olympics time at the Gingerman consisting of Darts, Spades, Yahtzee, and some other card game. I failed to win any of them. I leave the Gingerman at 6 for my 7'o'clock hockey game. Get home... go to lock my door and realize and look at the keys and realize i don't drive an Acura. I somehow grabbed a friends keys and had to go back to the bar to give them back to him.

Moral of the story: Take a picture of where your car is, make sure you are always in the right car, don't steal someone else's keys.

We won our game by the way... 5-2. And yes, someone on the bench commented how i smelt of beer. Awesome.

Go Stars!

Funny

If you haven't checked this out... it's hilarious. Ferrell is really funny. Check it out.

Last night i got switched to a window seat with no one next to me... because I'm Even Steven.

Today I will run a few miles tonight and... yeah.... not much else.

See ya.

The Government is Sliding

This morning I read in the paper that the other night when Tax papers were due at midnight, people who chose to file online had some problems. Wah. Turbo Tax said they were receiving over 60 files per second and this caused there system to come to an almost halt and caused many people to be late. Turbo Tax informed the IRS of this, and they extended the deadline until the next day.

Are you kidding? That is ridiculous. I know I made sound crazy, but these people have had well over two months to do there taxes. It's not Turbo Taxs' fault or the IRS's fault, it's the person filing that should have done this a lot earlier. I just can't understand why people put this off until the last minute. Everyone knows that Post Offices are crazy (according to a fellow blogger i learned this is true) and that the Internet doesn't always work (someone needs to get Al Gore to work on that, because his global warming shpeel isn't inspiring enough people).

Spladow!! *

Today is kind of really sad day for me. On my flight home tonight, I will be sitting in a middle seat. I'm really confused as to how this happened and throughout the day I will be attempting to get that fixed. I must have been drunk when i booked the flight, because i know there were aisle/window seats available. This will be the first time I have ever sat in the middle in the past 16 months and I've been on well over 125 flights. I'm scared. Hopefully I will have decent smelling, slim, non-talking, non-snoring, non-baby/toddler, nice person next to me. Wait for it.

Not so much

Training last night was a failure, i ended up having a beer with a friend that lives in Minnesota and then going to dinner with a co-worker. After eating duck, i was in no shape of running. So i decided to go to bed early and wake up early to go running, that didn't happen of course. The consequence is that i will have to skip a work happy hour here put on by one of the clients so that i can get a nice run in after work. I plan on running to the U (university of Minnesota) and checking out the old campus. I haven't run there since before winter because running in below freezing weather just isn't my thing believe it or not.

Anyways, so today after work i will go to the hotel, change, and begin my run. Make it happen. Ready... Break.

Tomorrow after getting off the plane, I will make a trip to the rock gym and climb for an hour. Friday after work, another run.

Airplane seats are strange

This morning as I did my typical Tuesday morning routine... aka... boarding a plane that did not have any mutha fuckin snakes on it, i noticed something that i normally don't. Why is it, that seat A is on the right side of the plane, and seat F is on the left side of the plane. As i walk through the middle of the plane, i start to think that as Americans, we read from left to right, and typically we do things in alphabetical order.

So tell me this, why isn't seat A on the left side of the plane and seat F on the right side.

Think about it.

The weekend Wrap up

The weekend went down a little crazy. But that's just how it goes down sometimes. Friday night started at the Stoneleigh P for a happy hour for a co worker who will be having a kid soon. I chowed down a P Burger which was might tasty. I took it somewhat easy and only had a couple couple of beers (couple couple is code for 2 X 2). From there it was on to the Quarter to celebrate my Quarter Century coming one week later. It all went down hill pretty fast from there. Lots of people showed up, it felt like every time i turned around someone was throwing another shot or beer my way. That's just how it goes sometimes I guess. From there i rolled on over for a late night Mushroom Swiss burger from Village Burger Bar (making it 2 burgers in a span of about 8 hours). It was might tasty and so was the beer that i ordered and only took one sip out of... that was until the women working there came by and was collecting drinks and i got surge of beericity and chugged the rest of my beer faster than i think i ever have. From there, somehow i got home and next thing i know people are showing up for the AP (after party... not accounts payable). We filled out surveys from work, listened to Kate jam out on the guitar, threw bottles off the balcony, and basically acted like 12 year olds. It was all good. Finally around 430... everyone had left and i got stupid and went to sleep.

Saturday... woken up and realize someone left there phone. They come by and pick it up and from there i go to eat some breakfast and go back home for a nap. I'm awakened by calling to go to the Gingerman, i look outside and say "How can i say no on such a perfect day"... get to the g man around 215ish and begin slowly having a few beers later. A double couple of beers later, it's about 530 and now time go home. I go home... take a quick nap and proceed to Adairs for another Hamburger... yes... i ate three hamburgers in less than 24 hours. I'm pretty sure at this point in the weekend if you cut me open, i would bleed beef. Tasty. From Adairs it was off to Cru wine bar, for a bottle of wine. Then to the loon for 2 jack and cokes... and then finally home. Luckily no after party.

Sunday morning started off with Brunch at Dream Cafe with some old Friends... then to Freebirds to watch other people eat. While at Freebirds the four genius' at the table had the marvelous idea that the beautiful Sunday weather should not be wasted and we should go to the gingerman (I'm pretty sure Drew and I keep this place open on weekend afternoons). Which we did where i had a few more beers for the weekend. Went home... rested up, ate, napped, and then went to play my hockey game.

Crazy fun filled weekend. The word of the weekend was Aclimatized... think about it. This is me breathing.

chapstick

So... I don't believe that i have ever completely finished a stick of chap stick. I am also to the end of one of mine i believe and I'm looking forward to seeing what happens. Hopefully there will be something cool that will make everything better.

Anyways, weekend was crazier then normal... and a lot of fun. Did some bad and good things, that's life though right.

Training starts today. Tonight I either will run or climb, or run and climb.

Yeah...

So i really want to get a new car, but financially it doesn't make sense. The GRPC (G-Ride Pimped Camry) that i currently drive will almost certainly never die. I'd bet that it has at least another 5 years of life left in it. But I'm young, the camry to me seems more of a family car, i don't see a baby seat in the back of my car... do you?

Anyways, i know i won't go through with it, but i really want to get a jeep... yeah i know, I'm 25, not 16, but it's kind of something i've always wanted. I don't think i would enjoy it as much as i would in 5 years right? I've had several ideas run through my head... one... wait 6 months and see where I am at financially/mentally/physically (i may be too fat by then to step up to a jeep).

Thoughts...

No Sleep... Till Brooklyn

Yesterday after work i went climbing for the first time in a few months. It was very tiring and I still have the ability to climb, just not the strength which kind of sucks. I plan on going again tomorrow because I need to train for a trip i'm taking in May. After climbing I watched the rest of my animal cruelty movie, Earthlings. This movie is definitley not for the weak stomach people, but i do recomend watching it. Although there is no way i will stop eating meat, it is interesting to see how the animals are treated for our entertainment. They even show how circuses train the animals and how zoos are bad and other things. Just watch, but not while eating.

Anyways, busy day today at work.

This is me breathing.

There I Go Again

Friday, morphed into brian 1.0 for a messy fun night. It was supposed to be a low key three beer birthday since i had planned on driving to H town that night to see my parents (you can tell i'm getting old when i'm going to my parents on my bday). I won't bore you with all the details from my birthday, but it was a fun time from the parts i do remember.

Anyways. So last night I started watching this movie called Earthlings. It is a movie that shows the horrible things that we do to animals and is supposed to promote not eating meat or purchasing things that harm animals. If you have ever wanted to see them put dogs to sleep, it has it on there and its pretty strange. One second they are alive and happy, the next they just fall over. They also show people putting dogs and cats into gas chambers and other horrible ways of killing them. And that is just a small chunk of part 1. Part 2 is all about the meat that we eat. I will have to say, the living conditions of the animals are extremely sub par and the way they kill them is not nice at all. Animals are practically skinned alive and throats are slit. I still have three more parts to watch. If you are interested in watching it, I found the entire thing on Google Video, or i have borrowed the DVD from my sister if you want better quality. All together though, there is not really any way i can just stop eating meat. I do want to try and cut back when i can, although that in itself will be difficult.

Anyways, it's monday. Let's do this.

The QC

Tomorrow I hit the QC (The quarter century mark). In some ways, I'm a little excited, I'll be able to save some more money on car insurance and in some ways be more responsible (Ha, sure... yeah right).

Last night, i blew out candles on a birthday cake for the first time in who knows how long. It all went down at a little work function we had at one of our clients house. She was very nice and had some brownies and put candles in them. I was surprised that they had remembered and therefore I turned very red from what I have been told. I never really have been much of a fan of birthdays ever since I was a kid, to me, it is really just another day. And these days, it's just another day I'll most likely be doing some big time drinking. This birthday will be somewhat different, I've decided to pack up and head home for the weekend and spend it with my parents and sista.

All in all, I'm hoping the weekend will be a somewhat relaxing what, since the past few have been fun and games involving my favorite beverage... beer. Before I do leave for Houston, I'll be having a somewhat small gathering of a few friends at one of my favorite bars, the Stoneleigh P.

Random Thoughts:

- Bags with wheels are like pink pedals on a bike.
- Lately the weather in Big D has been perfect. The past few weekends I've been spending a lot of time during the day at the Gingerman on the patio (see photo above). Always good times.
- Tonight is once again another big game in hockey. We are playing a team that is one point behind us and the playoff race is getting tight now that there are only about 5 games left. I'll be arriving a little late to the game since my flight gets in at 650 and game is at 730... let's just hope the plane is on time.

25, here i come.

35 Hour Bender...

This is pretty much how the weekend went.

Friday I got to Dave and Busters for a work happy hour. Started drinking there, but not tons of drinks since i had to drive home and i was helping out with the event and didn't want to be so hammered i couldn't function. After that my friend Sara and I met up with Drew Dog, the sistas (three of them), Mari, and Kate at Frankies. This was where things kind of started to go down hill. We migrated from Frankies to Quarter and continued the drink fest. Shots... beers... shots was kind of how we rolled that night. Next thing i know... it's 2 am. Whoa. Where did the time go. I decided it was time to go home since Friday night was supposed to be a very chill night. My original plan involved going home around 830 and cleaning up the rest of my place... but of course that did not happen.

Saturday morning I woke up in a Betty Crocker kind of state and since i had some friends crashing in my bed, i figured I'd make them muffins. That was nice of me... right...jk. From there i went to breadwinners with Sara, Susan, and Don... all work fun buddies. Had a nice little Mimosa to start the morning off right, then went back home as they shopped for apartments and hung out for about an hour. around 2 pm... Drew was ready to start the night off... yes... we started the night off at 2 pm at our favorite bar, the Gingerman. Our plan originally was to stay until 5 pm... and then go home and take naps to rest up for the night. But then people just kept showing up and so basically, we never got to leave. I ended up leaving around 730 to run home... change into nicer cloths... and then went back to the bar. From there we went to a going away party for my friend, then to Central Park. Sara and I stayed only for one drink and then headed over to Walrus to meet back up with Drew and others. That bar again went something like... shots... beers... shots... beers until 2 am. From there we went to the AP (not accounts payable... it stands for After Party) at Amy's boyfriends place. Stayed until around 3... took a cab to cafe brazil for some late night food... then finally cabbed it home around 4 am. Completing my 35 hour bender.

Sunday was a no drink day... went to see Blades of Glory, ate a Jake's with the roomie, and played a late night hockey game to sweat off the booze from the weekend. All in all, it was a tremendously fun weekend, but i think i will be taking a few weeks off from getting drunk.

"I'll show you how to drink a beer mother fucker" and "What had happened wuz" were definitely two lines that were abused this weekend and made just about every thing ridrunkusly funny.

Goonies Never Say Die

I was just 3 years old when the Goonies was released in theatres and yet it is still one of my favorite movies. With great characters like the Fratellis, Mikey, Chunk, Data, Sloth, and others, the film has withstood one of the greatest tests of time.

In 10 days I will turn 25.

10 minutes ago... i pissed away the last of the beer i drank last night

Tonight at 9 i have an important hockey game. I need to perform well tonight. This is me breathing.

Anna Nicole... wa wa wi

So I'm sure everyone has heard about Anna Nicole and that her death was due to a combination of several things and none of them being illegal drugs. That is great and all I do really feel bad about the situation and death isn't really a funny thing, but reading the autopsy definitely made me giggle a few times.

I think my favorite line in the autopsy was the descriptions of different parts of her body. As noted here:

"The genitalia are those of a normally developed adult woman. There is no evidence of injury. The anus is unremarkable."

I understand the first two sentences, basically implying she wasn't raped or something like that... but what is it that was so unremarkable about the anus. Do people typically have abnormal ones, this would be interesting to know.

I've never read an autopsy, but they do go into a lot of detail about everything that exists on the body. Including all of the tattoos that Anna had:

"There is a pair of red lips in the right lower abdominal quadrant.
Two red cherries are on the right mid pelvis.
A “Playboy Bunny” is on the left anterior mid pelvis.
The words “Daniel” and “Papas” are on the mid anterior pelvis region.
A mixed tattoo on the right lower leg and ankle represents: Christ’s head; Our Lady of Guadalupe; the Holy Bible; the naked torso of a woman; the smiling face of Marilyn Monroe; a cross; a heart and shooting flames.
A mermaid on a flower bed with a pair of lips underneath it laying across the lower back."

All in all, I believe she was more tattered up than Tommy Lee.

Anyways, sad to see her go, but glad to finally find out that it wasn't drug overdose. She will be missed.

Meatout 2007

Meatout 2007 is tomorrow, Saturday, March 23. So I (And you should too) will not be eating meet tomorrow and will only be eating luxurious fruits, vegetables, and whole grains.

Meatout is an international observance helping individuals evolve to a wholesome, nonviolent diet of fruits, vegetables, whole grains. This year's theme is "Stop Global Warming!" Did you know....

1. Animal agriculture produces more greenhouse gases than automobiles
2. Animal waste and feed cropland dump more pollutants into our waterways than all other human activities combined
3. Meat-based diets require 10-20 times as much land as plant-based diets - nearly half the world's grain and soybeans are fed to animals raised for human consumption
4. Eliminating animal products from your diet reduces your personal
greenhouse gas emissions by 1.5 tons .... that's a greater reduction than if you drive a hybrid car!!

There are Meatout events all around the world this weekend. Check for events in your area here: http://www.meatout.org/events/mevents.htm

In honor of Meatout 2007 I will be watching Fast Food Nation tomorrow. Good luck.

WTF... He Did It.

That's my boy Sanjaya Malakar... surviving another round. And this time, he wasn't even in the bottom two. Must have been his stellar performance from the other night that is keeping him in the game.

My question is, what is America really thinking. How can he be worse than Stephanie or Chris, they both at least look good and can sing better than a third grader, which is close to what Sanjaya resembles. His permish long 70sish want to be hair just isn't doing it for me. And his voice is just rancid and way too soft for anyone to even hear. Are people voting for him because they feel bad for him, because that's all i can think of and that is very pathetic.

Stephanie was supposed to be the next Beyonce... hopefully someone will pick her up and she will create some booty shakin music like i know she can.

Peace.

Sanjaya makes little girls cry

Have you been watching American Idol? Because to be honest... i kind of got caught up in it this season for some reason i have yet to figure out. Not sure if you know who Sanjaya is, but everyone thinks he is the worse and he has avoided the cut several times now. I contributed to this a few weeks ago by voting for him... yes i know, I am evil.

Last night he performed "You Really Got Me" and although it was better than all his previous performances, one might say it was like watching a man trying to breast feed three turkeys at the same time. The same sounds that Sanjaya made are the same sounds the blood thirsty turkey's would make as they pecked away at a man's nipples.

One girl even cried the performance was so bad. The camera kept cutting over to her. Some believe that she was crying out of happiness. Clearly the only reason she would be crying out of happiness while watching his performance was if Sanjaya was the Easter Bunny. Which is a small possibility but not likely because he doesn't look like he knows how to hide eggs very well... or how to find them.

Mezmorization Television

Growing up as a kid... i was somewhat deprived and did not have Cable television. Even today, I don't think I would have cable if I didn't have a roommate that wanted it. When I first moved to Dallas, I didn't have cable for the first year, and life was fine.

After that though, i found a station called MTV. Heard of it? MTV stands for Music Television or something like that, but ironically enough, I don't think I've ever seen a video. Maybe it really stands for Mezmorization Television. Because if there is one thing it is good at, grabbing my attention and locking it for long periods of time.

Shows like Next, Real World, My Super Sweet 16, Cheyenne, Jackass, Tom Green Show, Parental Control, Maui Fever, The Hills, True Life, Spring Break 07 Unleashed, and so many others seem to always lock me in like a sniper locks in his next target in the cross hairs of his M40 Sniper Rifle (See picture).

So what is it that locks me in, probably the absurdity of what I am viewing? Most of it is cheesier than Chester Cheetah, but maybe that is the appeal. The fact that most of these people are so cheese and I just can't believe it almost makes me want to continue watching. You dig?

I broke down...

...and joined Netflix. Thus far, I'm very impressed with the interface they have put together. It's very easy to understand, even for someone like me.

Right now in my queue, I have Fast Food Nation (Recommended by my sister), Borat (i want to see the extra 30 minutes), and Sideways (I never got to see the end). After those i have several Everest Expedition/alpine climbing style movies to motivate me to train harder and more. Hopefully this will work.

I checked out external DVD burners... they only cost about 100 bucks and software to burn DVDs is only about 45 bucks. Hard to believe that it is legal to sell these, they are asking for people to just copy movies. Hopefully I can get it all figured out soon.

I look forward to netflixing. It is fun.

Good people

Some people... i love to work with... some people i hate working with because they are difficult.

I sure hope other people think of me as someone they love to work with... or at least not someone they hate to work with. i would be satisfied knowing i was at least in the middle of the two. More to come on this later.

Like Whoa

So normally political things aren't my favorite thing to discuss... but there was this guy, who looked like he just woke up next to a 50 cent male hooker with condoms coming out of his ears and anus after a night of drunken absinthe sexual escapades debauchery. At least he used protection right? Wrong.

So anyways, the guy pictured recently admitted that he decapitated the Wall Street Journal reporter in 2002. He is quoted to saying:

"I decapitated with my blessed right hand the head of the American Jew, Daniel Pearl, in Karachi Pakistan"

First off... your name may be Khalid, but you are not Borat. And i feel like you are serious about your jewist comment. Not that I'm Jewish, and i like to laugh at jokes, but this guy is actually serious about his jewist thoughts.

Second... shave your back or get it waxed... or do something. You look like you spilled rogaine all over you and it just won't stop growing.

Third... Two words for you... Super Cuts.

All in all, i think we should give him the death penalty, Westley style from the Princess Bride... which goes something like this:

WESTLEY - It won't be the last. To the pain means the first thing you lose will be your feet, below the ankles, then your hands at the wrists, next your nose.

HUMPERDINCK- and then my tongue, I suppose. I killed you too quickly the last time, a mistake I don't mean to duplicate tonight.

WESTLEY -I wasn't finished -- the next thing you lose will be your left eye, followed by your right --

HUMPERDINCK-- and then my ears, I understand. Let's get on with it --

WESTLEY - Wrong! Your ears you keep, and I'll tell you why -- -- so that every shriek of every child at seeing your hideousness will be yours to cherish -- every babe that weeps at your approach, every woman who cries out, "Dear God, what is that thing?" will echo in your perfect ears. That is what "to the pain" means. It means I leave you in anguish, wallowing in freakish misery forever.

That is how he should die... Westley Style.

The deadliest mountain

Yesterday I continued reading Left For Dead (book about the 1996 tragedy on Everest) on the plane to Dallas. Rob Hall passed away... this is an excerpt from the book describing the situation. Very sad.

"Rob lived through that night, but late that next afternoon, as darkness began to fall and there was no longer any hope of a rescue, Base Camp called his wife, Jan, in New Zealand and patched her through to her dying husband. Everyone on that mountain with a radio bore silent witness to their last moments together. Hall had regained his faculties. He and Jan decided at that moment to named their unborn child Sarah.

Jane to Rob: 'Don't feel that you are alone. I'm sending all my positive energy your way.'

Rob to Jane: 'I love you. Sleep well, my sweetheart. Please don't worry too much.'

Both of them knew exactly what lay ahead. When those moments had passed and Rob no longer had to be strong, you could hear him quietly weeping as he faced his own death. He didn't know the radio was still on."

That can't be easy knowing that you are pretty much left for death and that no one can save you and you cannot save yourself. Several people die on Everest every year, The American Alpine Journal says that one in 29 climbers who summited Everest died on descent. However, many hard core climbers believe K2, where one in seven summiters died on descent is much tougher. I personally know that I am not capable of either (at least not yet). But if you are interested in learning more about K2, you should read this article. It is very long... but some of it is interesting.

Losing it

Am I really losing it. I used to be all up on the latest technologies and computer gadgets and gizmo's... but the other day, i went into the MAC store and used an ipod for the first time. It was not extremely difficult, but there were definitely several features i need help with in order to understand. I must be getting old or something, because i still don't understand what is so great about the ipod. I mean, it's just music. Music is nice, but is it really that necessary to have your iheadphones in all the time such as when you are running, flying, working, etc. You are missing out on hearing so many great things... nature, airplane engines, babies crying, other people's conversations, and so many other great things. So maybe they are the ones that are falling behind because they are missing out on all the sounds of life that go on around them. Think about it.

Work sucks... I know.

Predicting the Future

I'm pretty good at predicting the future so I'll go ahead and predict the rest of my day...

Lunch will consist of a place called Rossies (I believe I can make this happen if I suggest it) where I will order the Fruit Salad, Meat Lovers Pizza, and a water.

Afternoon will be short and sweet and consists of me responding to... 17 emails and reading 25 emails. Work a few big deals with my client to make them happy. Get my stuff done for the day. Start packing up around 315 and leave for the airport around 330 for my flight back to the big D.

Walk my way down to the train station... freezing my ass off in the 20 degree weather trying not to have to use my gloves or my hat (because everyone knows those are for wimps). Typical timing, as I'm 100 yards from the train I will watch it come and go... missing it only by a minute or two. Damn! It always happens. So I'll stand in the cold for another 10 minutes waiting for the next train. Awesome.

Arrive at the airport around 4ish... make my way to the tram to the airport and get in line with all the status /first class folks (since it's typically faster since its 90% business people and we all have the process down stat on how to go through security quickly... unlike the married couple with 3 kids running and screaming and taking 5 minutes to get there bag through security and then 2 times of setting off the metal detector until finally they have to get the wand to search them... only to find that the person didn't take off there Stainless Steel belt buckle, timex watch, and they had 4 silver dollars in their pocket -- seriously who carries silver dollars... and i digress).

Anyways, I will do my Doo-Da-Doo-Da dance through security. Believe it or not in the past year of traveling they have searched my bag twice -- both in the past 3 weeks -- one time though, they did not even check my ID. They got confused by the line and checked the person in front of me and the person behind me...oh well. After making it through security I will make my way down to Chili's (I know it sucks... but there is not much else in MSP airport). Order my chicken sandwich and a tall beer (only a buck more... I'm such a sucker).

Make my way to the gate... prey i get bumped up for first class. "First class is checked in full"... Damn! Oh well... tonight i have an exit row.. it's basically first class for skinny people. As long as Mr. Can I raise the Arm Rest doesn't sit next to me... I should be fine.

Begin doing some reading until the plane talks off... fall asleep. Wake up back in Dallas. Roll of the plane in the wrong terminal of course since I'm flying stupid American. Drive back to my house... pick up hockey equipment. Make it to my 10 o'clock game just in time to play and kick some ass (I'm guaranteeing victory tonight).

Anyways, I'm sure that now you know how the rest of my day will go... I'm sure you can now make it through your day without any problems. Hope that wasn't too boring... because it was boring for me doing it... i just had to show off my skill of reading the future (or maybe it's because I've had this exact same routine every Thursday for the past year almost).

Mothers Day coming soon?

My parents use to live in England so I use to send my mom flowers every mothers day via some UK flowers website.

This morning I got an email from them saying:

"Don't forget Mother's Day.... Sunday 18th March. Buy Mum a gift online"

Few things wrong with this.

1. Mum? I don't understand why they say Mum. Guess the Brits are just a little different.
2. Sunday 18th March - They do dates backwards. Shouldn't it be Sunday, March 18th?
3. Mother's day is not until May. I know this because that is when me mum's birthday is. I guess England has different dates for these types of holidays. Very interesting.

So in about a week and a half... be sure to tell your mother happy mother's day.

When not to brush

There are definitely certain times in life when you should not brush. They all happen to be before eating food. I realized this morning as I took a bite of my pineapple at breakfast and the minty flavor hit the acidy pineapple combining to make some nasty super flavor that did not go over well. Some other things that are bad combinations... beer, vodka, strawberries, orange juice, and several others.

probably the only thing that is okay to eat immediately following a brushing session would have to be flossing or chewing a piece of mint gum (even that might not go over well).

Also, what is up with orange flavored citrus toothpaste, people are doing way too many drugs these days.

books

Sometimes I wish I could be a speed reader. There are so many books available these days... it is a little ridiculous.

Tonight I went to Barnes and Noble... it took me 30 minutes to decide on several different books that I had to choose from. I chose "Left for Dead" which is the story from Beck Weathers survival on the Everest tragedy of 1996. I read Into Thin Air which is another persons version of the story that survived so it should be interesting to see how they compare.

I know you don't care, but you should. Why? Because these books are great. Maybe it's because i love this kind of stuff, or maybe they really are good books. You'll never know until you read one of them.

yeah...

"Why am i naked"

This was the first few coherent thought that came to mind Saturday morning. I laid there longer, and continued to try and figure out the answer to this question. I was very unsuccessful. I tried to unfold the events from the night before... and this was all I came up with.

3:30 pm - I am bored at work. It is time to go drink.
4:00 pm - Arrive at the Gingerman 2 minutes prior to Drew. It's Texas Independence day, so I will only be ordering Texas beers. Order beer 1 - Live Oak Big Bark
4:02 pm - Amy shows up, we get the best table on the patio. Holla!
4:05 pm - Time for my favorite bar food... turkey cranberry sandwich...mmm
4:18 pm - Order Beer Number 2 - (Another Big Bark)
4:45 pm - The sun is bothering me, yet I am somewhat cold. Must need more beer. Order beer number 3 (Real Ale Brewing Pale Ale)
4:46 pm - Potty time.
5:15 pm - More people continue to show up that I don't know. Maybe i should be more social. Get me another beer (old school... Shiner Bock)
6:15 pm - Pam shows up... it's about time...jk.
6:16 pm - One more beer please.
6:50 pm - I'm slowing down... must keep pushing on. Another beer please
7:45 pm - Phil shows up. It's about time slacker. Another beer please
8:00 pm - I begin talking to some girl. Turns out she is from Houston or knows someone from Houston named Misty. Wow. I know who she is talking about. Misty was a popular hot girl in middle school... one of those cheerleader types. The girl talks about how they were great friends... I tell her i barely knew her, but would recognize her. Then random girl tells me Misty was a slut... too bad i didn't know her better in middle school...jk.
8:15 pm - Last beer at the gingerman. Hopefully
9:00 pm - Ride to Quarter Bar with Phil and Pam to meet up with Pam's friends
9:05 pm - Phil orders me a drink... Jack and Coke (it's my party trick drink)... pam pays. Nice of her
9:15 pm - I haven't touched my Jack and Coke and phil notices... "whats wrong with gekius" he says. I tell him no fear... it's all good. Then I chug the entire thing and say... where to next.
9:45 pm - Brien Pierson calls... and says he wants to go out... he will pick us up in front of Quarter shortly
9:50 pm - Phil goes to the bathroom
9:54 pm - I get a text from Brien... he is outside waiting to pick us up
9:55 pm - I grab Pam tell her we are leaving. "What about phil" she asks... i say... "What about him". We leave phil behind. Whoops. I still haven't talked to him since... it happens. He will be ok.
10:05 pm - We go to State & Allen lounge. Brien buys a round and introduces us to all his big time friends. All very nice... just not my style.
10:45 pm - Time for a new bar. Hop in the range rover (Cash M style) We pick... Grapevine... of course... it's brien.
11:00 pm - Get into Grapevine, and Brien order's his typical Grapevine drink. A bottle of Champagne and three glasses. Here we go.
11:45 pm - First bottle done... I've been chugging way too much and can feel the bubbly.
11:50 pm - Brien orders another bottle
11:55 pm - I'm tired. I close out. Drink a little more champagne. And peace out
12:01 am - Pam and I walk out of the bar. Realizing Brien drove us here. Shit. How will we get home?
12:02 am - Pam and Gekius are hungry. Gekius has idea to walk to Cafe Brazil. It's not that far. We start walking.
12:21 am - After the half mile walk (much longer than anticipated) through the gayberhood, we make it. Finally.
1:15 am - I find myself in a cab on my way home with Pam. Did i eat at cafe Brazil? Apparently I did.
1:16 am - The 45 second .75 mile cab ride home was a quick one. I ask pam for money... Thank goodness she has cash and is responsible.
9:15 am - I wake up naked. Still unexplainable.
10:30 am - My car is 1.5 miles away. I have to run in order to get it. I run it in 12 minutes... Nake, Hungover, and still drunk... ok not naked... but either way I'm still capable of running 8 minute miles in that horrible state... wait for it.

Somehow i made it through the night. It was my first super drunk night since MLK day. It was fun. I made some new friends. Discovered a few other things. Until next time... peace out.

Saturday night i go out. I can't even stand the smell of alcohol. My stomach had the strangest pains ever (pretty sure it was my liver saying.. cirrhosis). But i made.

Good bad luck...

Ever heard of it. If not, here is an example.

A buddy of mine had a toight (yes... its toight) deadline approaching and was very certain that the odds of making it were slim to none. That sucks eh. Except for the fact that the person who is expecting the deliverable had a death in the family this afternoon, therefore won't be available until monday at the earliest to check if its done. Good luck for my buddy, bad luck for the VP who wanted to see the deliverable.

That is an example of good bad luck.

Texas Independence Day!!

In case you didn't know... today is Texas Independence Day.

On March 2, 1836, Texas declared its independence from Mexico and became the Republic of Texas. For about the next 10 years, Texas was its own country.

On March 2, 1836, the Battle of the Alamo was in progress. Perhaps one of the greatest battles (other than Battle of San Jacinto) to ever take place. The Texas troops were tremendously outnumbered by Mexican General Santa Anna and the rest of the Mexican forces. Santa Anna used about 1,100 soldiers, while the Alamo only had about 200 soldiers inside to defend. The fighting went on for 13 days. Colonel Travis knew what he was up against and knew defeat was most certain. So on March 3rd (or 4th or 5th, no one really knows), he drew a line in the sand with his sword and invited those who were willing to stay and most certainly die, to cross the line.

Several famous Texans died at the Alamo, including Jim Bowie(Bowie knife was named after him), Davy Crockett (Famous quote "they could go to hell and I would go to Texas" and known for wearing his coon skin hat), William Travis, and several others.

Throughout hate rest of the Texas Revolution, "Remember the Alamo, Remember Goliad" became the battle cry for Texans.

So today, i ask you for a moment of silence while we remember the Alamo, the Texas Revolution, and what Texas stands for... Independence.

Below is the invite of the celebration i will be attending tonight:

As you may or may not know, this Friday is Texas Independence Day. As such, I'd like to invite you to celebrate the 171st year of the lone star state's independence from Mexico . Without the Texas Revolution, our state would be inundated with Mexican culture. Oh, wait....it is (and thank God for Mexican food—am I right?). Anytoot, I can't think of a more appropriate way to celebrate the culture and traditions of our great state than to drink a butt-load of imported beer.

Please join me in recognizing key battles and fallen Texan heroes like Davey Crockett, Sam Houston and James Bowie at the Ginger Man this Friday evening. Our heroes probably wouldn't mind if we also honored them with a little skittle shaking at The Slip Inn. As Santa Anna always said, "Pimps up, hoes down. If you can't swim, you're bound to drizz-own!" Or maybe that was Snoop Dogg; I always get those two confused.

The festivity details are listed below per The Ginger Man. Please feel free to invite others by forwarding this email to your friends. Some of us plan to get there a little early (around 3ish) so you should think about getting there early if you want to sit at the cool table (which will slowly become the retard/short bus table by 7ish).

Cowboy hats and coon-skin caps are welcome, but save your sombreros for cinco de mayo.

REMEMBER THE ALAMO , BEEYOTCH!
The Ginger Man hosts their 2nd annual Celebrate Texas Fest,
featuring more than 20 Texas beers.
Celebrate Texas Independence Day Friday March 2
with 72 beers on draught and more than 100 in bottles. Live music by
rockabilly greats The Drop-Top Rockets from 9 p.m. until 1 a.m. No cover
and beer, bbq and give-a-ways. Festivities begin at 6 p.m

See everyone there!!!

Password expires in 7 days

That's right... my password for my work computer will be expiring in 7 days. That means I technically don't have to change it until next Thursday. So I officially have one week for ideas of what to change my password to. Typically, I use one of my favorite numbers and combine it with a word that is easy to remember and has some significance to me. Unfortunately, I've already used all of these words. Typically I now just look around me at the moment they want me to change my password and see what word pop up... such as:

1. My soup today says Campbell's... so i might make my password Campbells11
2. My mouse says "Logitech" on it... so i might choose logitech88
3. My computer says Latitutde610... so i might use Latitude610... except for that was my password 6 months ago... damn!
4. My phone says IPPhone... so i might choose IPPhone33.

Anyways... you get the point. Passwords expire and you have to come up with new ones unless you want to beat the system (see my previous blog: Beating the System (November 2006))
